The service is not good mainly by the server, the hibachi preparation was dull and I did not receive the complete order items as mentioned on the menu, the quantity and quality of food for the price are low

Food was cooked too far apart, and my scallops were like rubber. It appeared to be that our cook was very inexperienced. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I went there with my husband and two daughters. Both my daughters are severely allergic to tree, nuts, and sesame. When we arrived, the server asked if we had any allergies and I explain to her that we did. When it was time to order, I reminded the servicer about the food allergies again. I am not sure what was cross contaminated, but both my daughters had a reaction. One of my daughters ended up having to be hospitalized. The manager blamed it on the fumes. But however, I believe that she ate some thing for the reaction she got. I would not recommend this place for people who have allergies, not allergy friendly at all.

We were there to celebrate our son's birthday. Team knew about it, but seemed to forget about it half way through the meal. We waited for them to come and sing happy birthday to him... they sang to other people at another table which made it even more awkward, since they had mentioned it to our son at the beginning of the meal. Oh well. Also, the table seemed to be super sticky. It's usually a bit sticky but yesterday all 3 of my kids were pointing it out how everything was sticking to it :( Throughout cleanup is overdue!

The table felt cramped. not enough space on table for drink, silverware, sauces, soup, salad. chef did a great job, but couldn't hear him. he whispered. soy sauce was regular, not low sodium. fried rice had no flavor not the same Benihana I was used to

Experience is very inconsistent across chefs. The last two experiences have been with chefs who either weren’t trained appropriately or simply didn’t care about the dining experience. Dine at your own risk.

We always come to Benihana for the birthdays and on holidays. We always order the same dish, Rocky's Choice. It's a dish with everything we like. Thank you for always being there. Watching the food being cooked is like watching a show. You don't want to eat any of It until everything is done. The food was delicious. Great for families with kids of all ages. We had 4 ranging between 3 - 12 years old. My picky eater (age 11) who never eats chicken tenders, ate them. That is no small feat. The icing on the cake is they offered to take a family photo and printed it on the spot. What a great way to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday.

Well this particular Benihana needs real bartender the drinks here are always to fruity or not enough alcohol. When I tell managers, I get a lesson in measuring that I don’t want to hear. When your paying almost $20 for a drink don’t tell me I’m wrong… make it right! And this one charges for every single thing you ask for… disgusting!!

- chair backs were sticky on multiple chairs - our kids were disappointed our chef did not do onion flame like all other tables surrounding us - noise level too high to hear chef or other guests.

I had gone to Benihana when I lived in California and now that I moved to the DMV area was pleasantly surprised with the service and food quality at the Benihana in Dulles, VA. The manager, Johanna, the chef, Luis, and our server, Schuyler, are the absolute best. We went on a Saturday for late lunch and made a reservation and couldn't ask for better service. We had a table to ourselves and we did not have to wait. We loved that the staff was bilingual. We are too. The experience was worth while and would return again. The at home atmosphere is delightful for us and our children.

Over-priced (we had a child under 2 with us and the amount of food they tried to offer this kid was insane - they need, like, half-portions for half the price), TERRIBLE chef performance - they tried to claim our chef was from out of state and the manager tried to remedy the situation for us, but the fact is we have been to this location before and also had a boring experience. And the tables AROUND us seemed to be having a great time, so the experience here is INCONSISTENT. For the price, I expect an amazing experience every time. Food was OK, shrimp tasted over-cooked.

They didn’t adhere to the attire policy they have advertised. Not as much food as Kobe provides. Drink went empty and they weren’t busy. Food has no flavor.

fun for the all--kids (8 & 6), of course, delighted in the 'magic' of the chef. AND... they ate the food! They loved the chicken tenders. For myself, it was the first time trying Japanese beer: KIRIN LIGHT! loved it.

So, my wife, child and I have been here before. We told them in the reservation that it was our child's birthday. No reaction. We told them again while we were seated. Nothing. The service was bad. We talked to the manager and were assured that they were aware of their bad host who isn't working there anymore. Well...ok... We went there again today (May 27, 2023) at around 5:15 PM. We wanted to give them a second chance and had a reservation for my wifes 32. birthday. And we were totally disappointed again. Not a single word regarding her birthday. Not even a slight congratulation. I informed them in the reservation and I told the host. Not a single word...absolutely nothing. When we were seated, the table was still dirty at our spot from prior guests. The food was good, but the service was chaotic and amateur league. We asked for water without ice. My wife got ice. We asked for the green tea which was supposed to come with our order. Didn't get it. We asked again...still didn't get it. Our bill was 147 dollars. We had 160 dollars in 20 dollar sized gift coupons. We wanted to leave 30 dollars tip in cash, but wanted to explain our service experience first. He took the coupons and ran away immediately so we had no chance to talk to him. We were supposed to wait for the receipt, but he didn't show up again. After waiting 5-10 minutes we left. So 13 dollars tip it was... still way too much for that poor performance. Funny thing is, we would have given him more than double anyhow but he didn't come back. Whatever... So another birthday ruined. Thank you Benihana Dulles.

Our waitress was inexperienced, she confused everyone with the hamachi menu options. We asked for medium steak and the chef made it very well done. The service was very slow and it took forever to get our steak so we ate the rice for 30 minutes before the meat was served.

Chef and food were great. Server was quite slow at bringing wine, and we didn't get our steamed rice until near the end of the meal. Also had to wait a long time to settle the bill. So so experience considering we spent $150 + tip for three.

I’ve dined at Benihana multiple times, so I figured it would be a great place to celebrate Mother’s Day. To start, our chef was kind, but not entertaining at all. We had two little kids who were expecting some sort of a show, but other than a couple of knife tricks in the beginning, that’s all they got. Once food was cooking, we all got our fried rice, but my son and dad ordered steamed white rice. That didn’t come until almost the end. My son ordered chicken tenders, which also didn’t come until the end. He took one bite of it and spit it out…it was rock hard. The manager or worker proceeded to tell me it was because it was fried. Well..no…the chicken was cold and stale. She said she’ll have a new one made and by the time we got it, we had already paid for our check and were walking out. We ended up getting my son McDonald’s. My brother, sister in law and myself all ordered filet and it was absolutely disgusting. Most, if not all, of my pieces of filet were just chunks of fat, as were theirs. My husband, who is not very critical and will eat anything, felt sick to his stomach after and mentioned how everything was extremely oily and salty. Overall, pretty disappointed in today’s experience. Definitely expected better and way more out of such a well known and pricey establishment. Do yourself a favor, save your money and dine at any other hibachi restaurant in the area.

Mothers Day brunch is not a time that I expect to receive good service in restaurants, but Benihana's staff surprised me by providing thoughtful and attentive service to my family throughout the meal. I haven't been to Benihana in years and only selected it on Mothers Day because many other restaurants had no reservations available by the time I tried to make them (only one day in advance). I was so impressed by the service team that I plan to return soon and expect to become a loyal customer.
