About this restaurant

It all began many years ago in Calabria, Italy in the family kitchens of Bensi founders John Osso and Mario Bernardo. That’s where they learned that great food - the kind of food that makes you “mangia like you mean it” - is made from just two things: the freshest ingredients and love. “Made fresh to order” is a very demanding process, requiring commitment and dedication at every level. That’s why a head chef and general manager run each Bensi restaurant. They have a vested interest in the success of their establishment and embrace the “Bensi Way” of serving the freshest and tastiest Italian dishes in a casual, attractive environment. Even though each restaurant uses similar ingredients and preparation techniques, they all have their own individual styles and unique flavors. Finally, you can always depend on the friendly and attentive staff to make your dining experience a pleasure and, most importantly, to serve food that is “Always Fresh, All Ways Italian.” Welcome!

From the wasabi service to the fresh pasta, Bensi was a delight! Manager walking around greeting people, cocktails were tasty. Salad was fresh and shrimp Franchese was nice and lemony

Has a nice flare to the place. Pasta was cooked perfect and seafood was also fresh. Mussels were in a nice diavolo sauce.

The new chef and ownership change has really improved Bensi's. On our visit, we enjoyed EXCELLENT Crab Cakes.! As well as Bensi's Fresh salad. Service in the bar area was excellent. I've heard that there is going to be a new menu soon, being created by the new chef. Looking forward to tasting new ideas.

We went to Bensi in Old Bridge for the first time on Friday night, and it was a fantastic dinner! The food was all very delicious and had some interesting flair from the norm. The picture in the app/website of the hazelnut brownies and cherry pistachio gelato was taken at our table! A must try- we were all stuffed but still found room for it to share. Scott is one of the owners and sat down and talked with us for a bit- he really is passionate about the restaurant and is bringing it in a great direction. Just listening to him describe each appetizer or meal makes you want to order it. We all ordered something different and every single app and entree was great. If it sounds good here, it IS. We will definitely be returning.

I've been to Bensi a few times, and ADMIRE the quality and FRESHNESS of all their food. On my last visit, I enjoyed a freshly made scallop entree addition, it was Fabulous. The new chef has really made a difference.
