   Best steak I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend to anyone that wants to have a special night out as a date or with friends and family! The staff was on point and there for your every need while giving you enough space to enjoy your meal!

   Celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday! He loves the ‘Ruby’ restaurants. I’m a vegetarian and they are very accommodating to those of us non-carnivores. Don was very patient and courteous. Will definitely be back! My favorites: Honeycomb Salad, El Jefe Margarita, Rye bread.

   For a Jeff Ruby's restaurant, Carlo & Johnny is definitely up to snuff! The barrel-cut filet mignon was on par with the best-tasting/textured steak I've ever had. The 5-cheese baked mac n' cheese side is not to be missed, and the mashed potatoes aren't far behind. The desserts on this particular visit left my wife and me a little disappointed - we splurged for our anniversary, and both of our butter pie slices were overcooked and not very good. This has been our FAVORITE dessert from the downtown Jeff Ruby's and The Precinct on previous visits, so it was a huge letdown. The Carrot Cake, while ginormous, was very underwhelming when it came to flavor, and the Creme Brule was also bland. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day or what. Speaking of celebrating our anniversary, even though the reservation noted the special event, our server neglected to ask or bring it up - by the time the check was delivered, I realized the oversite but thought it was too late to do anything about it. That hadn't been the case in previous years, and the staff didn't seem too busy, so maybe it was just a small miss during the opening greeting and introduction that led to a missed opportunity to make the celebration night that much better. All negatives included, the steak was STILL so good I would have zero hesitation coming back as often as I can afford it!

   Carlo & Johnny's is a classic place for a great steak. I prefer Jeff Ruby's downtown and the Precinct but still one of the best places for a great dinner in Cincy. Also you should get their classic Old Fashioned smoked. Great touch.

   My family and I always enjoy our experience at the Jeff Ruby restaurants. One of our steaks was slightly over cooked but the manager recovered with a comped dessert.

    We had an absolutely perfect experience celebrating our son’s 16th birthday! From getting our reservation switched to a time that worked better for our family straight to the end with our beautifully packed leftovers. All the in between was taken care of by Paul! He had such a way about him! Great at making our bday boy feel special while at the same time including our younger son in the evening. We appreciate it more than you know! Thank you for making a great memory for our family!

    Our wait staff was impeccable! Best service we have had in a long while. The food was delicious and we even got a free dessert just for being a 1st time customer. The live band was fun and not too loud. The atmosphere was the perfect date night vibe

    Always have an amazing time at Carlo and Johnny! We love to sit at the bar, and you can’t beat the service from Kate and Ashley! Very attentive and fun! And, they make a great cocktail! The food is always the best, and you can’t beat the atmosphere! By our favorite spot to visit for a date night.

    Always an enjoyable evening at Carlo & Johnny! Got a little crazy this evening and tried the honeycomb burrata. It was fantastic. The filet was perfectly prepared as usual, along with the baby carrots. Definitely recommend! Also recommend reservations.

    My boyfriend and I frequently dine at Jeff Ruby’s and we are never disappointed. We sat in the lounge area which is very intimate and comfortable. Charlie made sure we were well taken care of per usual! Another amazing dining experience! We will be back.

    The food and service were phenomenal. I've been to the three Ruby's iterations in Cincinnati and several others (Louisville & Lexington) and this was my favorite. The old mansion layout makes for a different setting than a standard big main dining room. Can't say enough good things about it.

    The food was perfect, everything was delicious and prepared expertly! The room is set up so well that every table is a good table. My only criticism is that our waiter was kind of casual and abrupt. He didn't have the fine dining polish to him. I was more impressed with the helpers.

    Surprisingly, the very expensive steaks were just average. Tough and difficult to cut. Sides and dessert were very good. Service was great. Bottom line, we were disappointed in the main event-steak.

    Superb service and excellent food. Has an extensive wine list with some true values... just need to dig in past the Cabs. Loads of attention to details here. Never been disappointed here. Steak and lobster were cooked to perfection. Salads were delicious too!

    We made reservations for dining and having the special $65 lobster/filet/mashed potatoes and asparagus/Freddie Salad. I will start with the positives-greeted very nicely by valets, hostess staff and the Kirk our server was great along with all of the lovely assistants who were consistently filling our glasses, taking away plates and interacting pleasantly with us throughout the evening. The oysters were delicious. the lobster cooked really too perfection. The filet mignon was decent-not the wow you usually get with Jeff Ruby.Now the critiques-my guess is a lot of people were first timers to come for this great special. The bad news is the salad warm, wilted and had flavorless tomatoes. The waiter brought this to Charlie's attention who wanted to provide us with a lovely dessert-and by the way Butter Pie is a must-ooey gooey buttery and served warm -I would come back for that. Little put off at the bartenders-we got there early to enjoy some pre dinner cocktails-never came back after our first drink to see if we wanted water, another drink. The vodka gimlet was not filled to the brim and tasted like bottled lime juice-I was expecting fresh lime juice which may not be what they use but have had delightly gimlets at other high end restaurants/bars. Overall the service was outstanding but fell short on the other areas which was a bait disappointing.

    Audrey and Justin took very good care of us and I think the manager (looked like the manager) came by to check on us. I have high expectations for this restaurant, as I’ve dined there many times in the past 20 years. This is my second time dining at a high top and for the future I will book a dining room when it is a special event

    Dinner @ Carlo & Johnny's on March 21, 2023 was outstanding - as usual. We took advantage of an offer for the 6 oz. Filet Mignon & 6 Oz. Lobster Tail dinner for $65.00. Too good of a deal to pass up. Only downside was the kitchen moved a little slower than normal in getting out appetizers out. Drinks and meal were fantastic and we were able to sign up for the Loyalty Program, as well. Just a wonderful dinner out and we will definitely be back in the future.
