Carmine's - 44th Street - NYC
Server was inattentive. Food was great as always. The worst part of this place is having a reservation, checking in, then getting stuffed into the bar area where you can barely breathe. If it wasn’t for the quality of the food, I would recommend skipping this iconic restaurant.
Food and service was fantastic
The food was amazing. The staff was amazing. It was just perfect.
Too crowded. They take too much reservations, seems like over booking. We had to wait in very crowded area for our table beyond our scheduled time and in the end they tried to give us poor table in poor location.
It's not our first or second time in carmines, but after this experience it's probably the last.
Booked a table, still waited for 35 min. What is the point of booking a table?
Food portions are HUGE and taste was great. We had reservations for 6:30pm the restaurant was crowded we didn’t get seated till 7pm. Service was good and a bit little slow but that was expected considering how crowded Carmine’s was at the time. Overall, great experience my son enjoyed his birthday celebration, they sang to him and gave him a desert.
Food was the best italian i have ever had!
We had a great visit at Carmine’s. A few tips for first timers, book a reservation, restaurant gets very busy. We booked as soon as the reservation window was open (30 days prior). Food is served family style, large portions. For a group of three we ordered a ceaser salad, veal parmigiana with spaghetti. The veal does not come with pasta, it was an additional $12.
Food was delicious and more than enough for everyone to have seconds.
They also serve delish bread basket with various soft and crunchy breads.
We loved it. We took the waitress recommendation and ordered the roast chicken and vegetables with garlic, herbs
It was amazing !
The fools was plentiful, tasted good but was way too greasy.
have eaten in this restaurant and the other locations also, every time i was more than satisfied with my entire experience. this time i was meeting a second cousin whom i have never met in my life. when i checked in i asked the receptionist for an out of the way table so we could have a nice conversation while we were eating the amazing food.....and they were happy to accommodate. my day was wonderful and so was our meal!!!
Had reservations for lunch, lots of empty seats....but we were seated next to a really creepy guy, def wrecked the ambiance. Food and service was awesome.
Was subjected to racial prejudice and constantly asked by waiter if the prices were okay for us to pay. I have eaten here many times but this last visit took the cake. Even the manager came to our table and treated us very poorly which caused us to leave before our food could even be touched.
Too noisy and busy. Portion sizes are gigantic and not great quality.
Food was excellent as always. The price was within what we had expected.
Absolutely recommend. Only just a bit chaotic at the entrance with people waiting everywhere.
Everything else was excellent.
Great family style comfort food with friendly staff and reasonable prices. It’s a refuge in a fast paced city where people become more pleasant as they spend time there enjoying their dinner.
Larry was our waiter and he was very friendly and “on point”. Thanks again Larry!!
Great atmosphere, great cocktails, outstanding food for something I thought was going to be a little gimickey. Can't wait to go back with a bigger group.
We come to Carmine’s every time we are in New York. The whole family loves it. The service is unmatched. We felt very taken care of.
Old school Italian, red gravy restaurant. Excellent for our group before attending a Broadway play.
Had pre-theater reservations for 3. They were able to accommodate a last minute addition to our party. Waiter was very helpful in our lunch decision making. Service was very timely. We had the Carmine's Salad and Chicken Scaloppine w/ Lemon & Butter. Food was plentiful for 4 to share. Also shared the Italian Cheesecake for dessert. Very nice experience.
Amazing night at Carmine’s ! Totally recommand this place !
Walked in went to the bar while waiting for our table. Bartender greeted us efficiently and friendly. When got to our table server was friendly and helpful. Knowing the menu. Food was excellent. Desert so yummy
Food did not live up to expectations! All felt very rushed. Had sat down, eaten and left within 30 mins. I don’t believe this is supposed to be a fast food joint! Wine served was like vinegar and sent back. Lasagne was luke warm and very average. Disappointed.
The wait was long, but the food was delicious.
Great food and great value. The problem is the wait and reservation system. Regardless of booking a reservation, we still had about a 30 minute wait.
Be prepared to wait even with a reservation. Busy place so service was so-so. Big portions perfect for sharing. Loud noisy Italian family feel. Perfect for groups and kids.
Love Carmine’s. Food is tasty and the portions are huge. Chicken Cantadina is a must. If you order wisely Carmine’s is very reasonable.
Got there early to check in (about half an hour before reservation time). We still weren't seated until about 20 minutes AFTER our reservation time. There were a ton of people waiting and nowhere really to wait. One of the people calling out names was speaking so quietly she was impossible to hear. The food was great but the hassle wasn't worth it.
Always the BEST at Carmine’s! The food and service never disappoint!
First time visit and let me tell you super amazing!! Food was amazing and tasted just like my mom’s cooking, So much food entrees are served family-Style and our waiter was just awesome, prompt, and helpful. A must go and bring an appetite or extra mouths.
Amazing Italian food!! Loved the service. Loved the location and ambiance of the restaurant. I would happily go back when I'm NYC again. Can't wait to come back.
Yes I would recommend the food was lovely unfortunately if you are just a party of two and you don’t like the same food it is not good value. My partner and I don’t like the same food we had to order two different dishes portion size are huge so most of mine was wasted and cost a lot of money for two pasta dishes
This restaurant despite being busy was freezing cold . We had to wear our coats throughout our meal amd when we mentioned it to staff they said they could do nothing about it... trying to.eat your dinner freezing is unacceptable. Also for gluten free options the whole table must opt for GF meal even though we had one person who required it.
Food was great. It wasn’t the best spaghetti I’ve had while visiting NYC but it was good. The portions are family size. Each meatball had to weigh at least a 1/4 pound and there were 6 of them. Make sure you come hungry.
Great night. The waiter was a doll and very helpful. He helped us order the perfect amount of food and the food was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommended
Terrific service, food and experience, as always!
Amazing food! Portions are HUGE and meant for family style. Very busy and I can see why! Drinks were great! Friendly service! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation now!
Food is very good and the place too. The only thing that bother me is that the waiter comes to your table each 3 min to ask if you have finished - even knowing that the dish is huge!
