Our table was downstairs. It was quite small but that seemed to add to the ambiance. Service and food quality good.
I have visited previously. It continues to serve good food. The atmosphere is friendly and the wine good.
I shall return. It is advisable to book at the weekend.
Good food. Good service. Good and friendly for vegan!
We were welcomed w a very upbeat hostess. She was very nice, and cheerful while she seated our party of 8. The food was tell timed and tasted great! We try to have Italian food everywhere we go. This was above what was expected for being in the Temple Bar area.
We were glad they were able to host a large party on a busy weekend in Dublin. We would definitely go back.
The staff is just amazing! I had dinner after the Portugal match in the World Cup, they understood my sadness and offered a glass of a fantastic prosecco! The food couldn’t be better
Wonderful food and service. Our first time to Dublin and wanted to change it up from Irish pub to Italian. Lovely server and downstairs dining was best! Hostess was so nice as well!
The best food at a reasonable price. Overall excellent
Amazing place ,really cozy, nice atmosphere. I will definitely be back a lot of times.
We had a lovely evening and really appreciated being moved downstairs when a "hen" party became very very loud. Staff were so helpful and good food.
We were visiting Dublin on holiday and did a little research online before selecting La Caverna for dinner. We are so happy we did, this was one of the best meals we had while in Ireland. The mussels were out of this world and that Mexican pizza....well...we'll be back if we are in Dublin again.
If you are looking for a change from the Irish pub scene and crave some Italian - give this place some serious thought. Excellent menu and the choices we had were excellent! Not to mention the wait staff were excellent - professional and friendly. Very cool design inside as we sat in the lower part of the restaurant which is the old cellar.
Service was great and food was outstanding. The mussels were especially good. Highly recommend Caverna.
Wonderful Italian meal at Caverna during our recent trip to Dublin. The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal.
We should have left after their bartender couldn't figure out how to make a Spritz. The food we ordered was serviceable, but totally bland. Pizza tasted out of a freezer.
I booked this place because of the underground vibe, seemed like a nice place for a date night with my partner. Sadly that charm is not present in all parts of the restaurant, as the table next to the window/cash register makes you feel like you're dinning in a hallway.
Food was first class. The rustic setting was beautiful. Waiting staff were very friendly but service slow and unfortunately we had to chase them for ordering etc which completely let the experience down. My impression was that they were understaffed but it wasn’t that busy either. Potentially an outstanding restaurant if this issue was ironed out.
My wife and I went while we were in Dublin for a long weekend from the US. Terrific food and very friendly service.
A group of 12 of us had a very pleasant evening meal with excellent food and service. We were accomodated upstairs in our own area on a single table, which worked very well for us (a noisy lot!) Thank you to the staff for an excellent evening of delicious pasta and other Italian favourites. The wines were also a good selection at reasonable prices. Two courses with beers and wine came to just over $40/person.
Loved the restaurant, the way it looked to the food, everything was great
The staff is so nice and accommodating. Food is wonderful!
Food was nice, place was clean, waitress was friendly although ,she kept mumbling italian sayings while serving us and interrupting our conversationI (stop trying too hard). I guess this place is what you would expect from a restaurant for that price. Would def come back for a casual dining again as location is also very handy.
Amazing place beautiful restaurant with amazing staff.
Food was lovely fresh, tasty and beautifully presented.
A real find in the heart of temple bar. Absolutely amazing.
Visited for mums birthday with the family, lovely staff providing a great service and amazing food full of flavour.
Were met by a lovely woman who was also our server. Wonderfully attentive and accommodating. Four of us were in town during our tour of Ireland and I had been here twice before. I always recommend it to anyone traveling to Dublin. Place is great and food is awesome. My friends were here in Ireland for the first time and raved about it. Food and drinks were outstanding. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Dublin. Thanks again for everything
I would say the restaurant was more of a 4.5 rating than 5 but, I didn't think 4 was fair enough. My family and I went to Caverna for dinner on Easter Sunday. The bruschetta was amazing. I had the lasagna which was excellent. My husband had the carbonara pasta which was good (hence the 4.5 instead of 5). However, I am comparing it to the carbonara pasta which we had in Italy. I've only had carbonara pasta twice. Once in Italy and the second time in Ireland so, I don't know how capable I am to compare. The atmosphere was great and the service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend trying it for a great Italian meal!
Met up as a group of 6 for a meal and were shown downstairs to a really cosy restaurant area. Food was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent welcome and friendly inviting atmosphere. Not impressed with the menu. Disappointed there were no specials, dinner was mediocre. Service was friendly and speedy - but food just did not impress - sadly.
Great food matched by great service. The Galway mussels and garlic prawns were very tasty. The fillet was tender and a proper medium rare. The pollo siciliano was flavorful and satisfying. We had 14 folks at the table and all had a great time.
Very small portions, although it was “Early Bird” they were still too small.
The head waitress was as mad as a March hare...she had a quirky phrase for everything (some in Irish!!) Service was good and efficient, but the bill was incorrect and we were overcharged.
Great restaurant in middle of temple bar area. Greeted by fantastic front of house and escorted to our seats. Food was lovely and constantly catered for during our visit. Would definitely visit again.
Had a fantastic night, great food with lovely presentation. Venison was cooked to perfection.
To start with the service was amazing and a really nice space. The only issue was that the food was just not that good. All three of us had the same reaction and we all had different entrées. I really wanted to like it because of the people but ultimately it is the food that tells the tale.
I wish I could remember the name of the wonderful woman at the door. She was so full of life and joy! Her welcome was a great start to a great meal. Fine wine, serious Italian food, candlelight - who wouldn't enjoy that! Thank you, La Caverna!
Delicious food, great service and just a lovely restaurant in general.
We went for a birthday meal and we ordered off the early bird menu. Great value for money, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Only criticism is there was no veg, salad with the main meal and this was not made obvious. We would have ordered some if we'd known. Other than that would highly recommend.
Have been a few times now and food is so nice every time. Service was excellent and Monica was a delight so funny and attentive
When we arrived we was greeted by such a welcoming friendly member of staff who showed us to our table and served us throughout our meal. It was such a pleasure and she couldn’t do enough for us. Very helpful offering to take photos and help us to find our bus stop. Also very helpful with our menu choices in such a joyful manner. She had amazing people Skills. The menu had a great choice especially for vegaterains and vegans which you don’t often see. We had bruschetta, pasta and then vegan brownie and all three courses was delicious and tasted homecooked. We shared a bottle
Of wine also and found our bill reasonably
Good value for two people in a city having three courses. Definitely recommend and would certainly visit again next time we go to Dublin. Massive praise for the quality of food and service from the lovely lady.
My girlfriend and I were in Dublin for a night and it was amazing! The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and the setting was perfect. Would definitely recommend
Somewhat Tacky so called italian restaurant- food is mediocre and overpriced. Would not recommend.
Excellent food and service. Brilliant waitress. Great atmosphere too
Went with some friends for dinner on Christmas Eve to this restaurant, and the food, service, and value were excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Italian cuisine. But please be sure to contact them in advance to make a reservation, since you might not otherwise be seated since every table was booked.
Wonderful staff. Terrific atmosphere. Had a brilliant night.
