Delicious Italian food in the heart of the Temple Bar district! The minestrone soup was delicious and the calzone was not only enormous but stuffed with pepperoni and ham. You will not leave hungry nor dissatisfied...really pleased with our dinner!

We had a lovely time sitting in the cellar itself downstairs. Service was fairly prompt and good - not intrusive. My husband enjoyed his pasta dish but I was disappointed in the quality of the Bolognese was not up to par. Tasted like plain hamburger.

Nine of us were traveling together in Dublin. We got to the restaurant early, and were able to be seated downstairs (in the wine cellar, which is a brick arched room). The ambiance was very quaint and the space was quiet - we were able to hear each other and share each others impression of the city and its attractions. The matradee was very pleasant and very accomodating. Our waiter was prompt and attentive. We ordered drink and food, which arrived in a timely fashion. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and the experience. It was a special memory. I'd go back again.

Our table was downstairs. It was quite small but that seemed to add to the ambiance. Service and food quality good.

We were welcomed w a very upbeat hostess. She was very nice, and cheerful while she seated our party of 8. The food was tell timed and tasted great! We try to have Italian food everywhere we go. This was above what was expected for being in the Temple Bar area.

We were glad they were able to host a large party on a busy weekend in Dublin. We would definitely go back.

We were visiting Dublin on holiday and did a little research online before selecting La Caverna for dinner. We are so happy we did, this was one of the best meals we had while in Ireland. The mussels were out of this world and that Mexican pizza....well...we'll be back if we are in Dublin again.
If you are looking for a change from the Irish pub scene and crave some Italian - give this place some serious thought. Excellent menu and the choices we had were excellent! Not to mention the wait staff were excellent - professional and friendly. Very cool design inside as we sat in the lower part of the restaurant which is the old cellar.

We should have left after their bartender couldn't figure out how to make a Spritz. The food we ordered was serviceable, but totally bland. Pizza tasted out of a freezer.

I booked this place because of the underground vibe, seemed like a nice place for a date night with my partner. Sadly that charm is not present in all parts of the restaurant, as the table next to the window/cash register makes you feel like you're dinning in a hallway.

Food was first class. The rustic setting was beautiful. Waiting staff were very friendly but service slow and unfortunately we had to chase them for ordering etc which completely let the experience down. My impression was that they were understaffed but it wasn’t that busy either. Potentially an outstanding restaurant if this issue was ironed out.

A group of 12 of us had a very pleasant evening meal with excellent food and service. We were accomodated upstairs in our own area on a single table, which worked very well for us (a noisy lot!) Thank you to the staff for an excellent evening of delicious pasta and other Italian favourites. The wines were also a good selection at reasonable prices. Two courses with beers and wine came to just over $40/person.

Food was nice, place was clean, waitress was friendly although ,she kept mumbling italian sayings while serving us and interrupting our conversationI (stop trying too hard). I guess this place is what you would expect from a restaurant for that price. Would def come back for a casual dining again as location is also very handy.

Were met by a lovely woman who was also our server. Wonderfully attentive and accommodating. Four of us were in town during our tour of Ireland and I had been here twice before. I always recommend it to anyone traveling to Dublin. Place is great and food is awesome. My friends were here in Ireland for the first time and raved about it. Food and drinks were outstanding. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Dublin. Thanks again for everything

I would say the restaurant was more of a 4.5 rating than 5 but, I didn't think 4 was fair enough. My family and I went to Caverna for dinner on Easter Sunday. The bruschetta was amazing. I had the lasagna which was excellent. My husband had the carbonara pasta which was good (hence the 4.5 instead of 5). However, I am comparing it to the carbonara pasta which we had in Italy. I've only had carbonara pasta twice. Once in Italy and the second time in Ireland so, I don't know how capable I am to compare. The atmosphere was great and the service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend trying it for a great Italian meal!

Great food matched by great service. The Galway mussels and garlic prawns were very tasty. The fillet was tender and a proper medium rare. The pollo siciliano was flavorful and satisfying. We had 14 folks at the table and all had a great time.

Very small portions, although it was “Early Bird” they were still too small.
The head waitress was as mad as a March hare...she had a quirky phrase for everything (some in Irish!!) Service was good and efficient, but the bill was incorrect and we were overcharged.

To start with the service was amazing and a really nice space. The only issue was that the food was just not that good. All three of us had the same reaction and we all had different entrées. I really wanted to like it because of the people but ultimately it is the food that tells the tale.
