There is no fusion of dishes nor compromise on classical recipes, all are prepared with the freshest ingredients and traditional spices and flavourings. No mono-sodium-glutomate (MSG) shall be used.
The decoration of China Tang will evoke a romantic sense of art deco of the thirties. At the same time, there will be an abundance of Chinoiserie as well as a collection of art from both.

Fantastic as always! A favourite of mine when I’m in London
By far the best Cantonese in London! The Peking duck was outstanding.
We always go to China Tang when in London. This was a business meal for 8 people and the restaurant didn't disappoint. Great food, great service. Best Chinese food in town.
Great evening with my wife and a very attentive service was provided.
Service was poor compared with previous visit.
Dirty cutlery was left on the table after starters and stained the table cloth. Was also expected to use the same cutlery for mains!
Food was great though.
Great Peking duck!!
Second high end Chinese restaurant we’ve been to in London. Compared to Min Jiang at the Royal Garden Hotel, China Tang was superior in every way except the view obviously. Peking Duck was very good; whole sea bass was fileted and served steamed with ginger/green onions. Very fresh, good quality soup by the bowl - had a melon soup (wife) and crab/corn soup (myself) - light dessert of a very large fruit plate.
Peking duck was cold by the time we received it, soft shell crab was way over cooked. Not somewhere I would go back to.
Lovely anniversary dinner. Delicious food with generous portions and attentive staff who were unobtrusive.
Excellent cocktails and wine selection. Great food. Pricey but worth it.
I only come here once in a while, and usually with a special friend I want to impress. The restaurant and staff never fail!
Everything about our meal was excellent. Thank you so much China Tang for making our anniversary dinner so perfect!
Always a good choice, the venue is beautiful and the service is excellent. Hit the upstairs bar for a post meal drink.
reservation for 8:30, didn’t get sat till 9:30. service was awful, was placed in a corner and basically forgotten about.
Dear Guest, I am so sorry you were kept waiting for your table and were seated so late. Saturday evenings are notoriously busy at China Tang. This of course is no excuse at all, and would be grateful if you would be so kind as to share the details of the name the reservation was made under so that we may look into what went wrong. Please do email us direct at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you and do sincerely hope this will not deter you from visiting us again.
The food lacked flavour. I've definitely had better Chinese food. I would say you are paying for the service and location. The restaurant had a luxury feel and the waiters were super attentive. A nice experience, average food, probably wouldn't go back but glad to have tried it finally.
Service poorest I have seen from a 5 star hotel ever
Food had no taste
Cocktails not good at all
Training required for waiters and cocktail makers
Dear Guest, I am so sorry you were so disappointed by your recent dining experience with us. I would be most grateful if you would kindly contact my assistant April, direct on email@example.com so that we may take further details from you. Our team strive to ensure that all our guests depart our company having enjoyed their time with us, however it is abundantly obvious that this was not the case on this occasion. My most sincerest apologies, kindest regards Nathalie
Would highly recommend the peking duck! Very pricey for what it is though.
Every time we are in London we come to China Tang. This time we eat well as usual, but the waiter was impolite.
Superb food in a truly beautiful setting.
Service was impeccable, the waiters very helpful.
We shared sweet and sour chicken, seasonal green beans, an aubergine hot pot,
with very tasty vegetable fried rice. All the dishes were large portions and really outstanding.
I am already planning my next visit
Cuisine très raffinée et excellent rapport qualité/prix. Vraiment pas cher!
The best Chinese food I have ever at eaten I’ve been 7 times now and will continue to come! I highly recommend the lamb and leek, sweet and sour chicken and prawn toast!
Service was mediocre. I expected more hospitality which I have received in other restaurants in the area.
We sat next to a family who kept using foul language which brought the tone down a lot but I guess the restaurant can't be held responsible for that.
Amazing customer service. The waiting staff were knowledgeable and friendly.
Amazing spot!!! One of the best Chinese food
Took my daughter to lunch as a reward for finishing her degree exams, a thoroughly enjoyable meal and ambiance, and a civilised drink in the bar beforehand. Not many people in the restaurant but enough to savour the atmosphere and the decor. Outstanding!
Outstanding food and service
Hat tip - the best Singapore Sling serve in the bar from an outstanding bar tender!
Simply the best!!
Great service and the food was great.
Food was good but not worth the price. I guess you pay for the area and decor. If that’s ok with you than it’s ok to eat here. I’ve eaten and had better services at other places.
Really enjoyed ourselves. My wife and I went to China Tang for our wedding anniversary. Such an opulent place with great food, good portions and not too pricey. We will definitely go back again.
Dim sums were yummy but mains were very average
Beautiful room but we had a bad table next to main serving corridor and table behind us with noisy kids under 5 playing games on their phones. Service was patchy, we got our food almost before the drinks which we had to ask for. Food came very quickly and was ok. Sweet and sour pork delicious, crab noodles bland. Toffee fruit sublime. Didn’t feel somehow it was a special experience or we were valued as diners. Lots of large round tables with corporate diners. Not the place for a romantic dinner for two. No candles etc....
Service was pretty chaotic tonight. A lot of waitresses with no coordination regarding our order... a shame
Dear Catherine, I am so sorry to hear our service was not up to its usual standard. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We will certainly address it with the team and ensure improvement is made. We have made a note on your guest history and sincerely hope that we may have the opportunity to welcome you again soon so that we may restore your faith in China Tang.
It’s an exquisitely designed space with an incredibly warm friendly team of staff. And the food is absolutely delicious. Really really great place.
Dear Tom, Thank you for your lovely comments. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
The food was ok, average. Very expensive, you are paying for the setting and location. We ordered a randerson if dishes from the dim sum and a la carte menu. The stand out dish was the sweet and sour chicken. I wouldn’t rush back.
Expected a lot more from here. When you charge £7-£8 per item from the dim sum menu you expect it to be if exceptional standard. Overall the price we paid
Dear Guest , I am so sorry you felt we fell short of expectation and that you found our basket of dim sum, which are all freshly hand made daily in our kitchens, were not of exceptional standard. Please do contact us with your booking details so that we may investigate the matter properly.
So noisy and so slow. A pale comparison with China Tang Hong Kong.
Dear Pops, Thank you for your comments. Saturday evenings are invariably our busiest and can be very bustling, although this is no excuse for slow service and I apologise if that was your experience. Our sister restaurant in HK is indeed a much calmer setting and I am sorry that you felt we did not compare favourably. I do hope this will not deter you from visiting us on another occasion, perhaps during the week and that we may restore your faith in our standards of service.
The food was fantastic - even standard dishes like sweet and sour chicken were elevated and more exotic wagyu beef dishes were sublime. Service was good enough although not the kind of experience that makes you feel special. Not a particularly intimate experience as it was very noisy and we had to raise our voices in order to have a conversation which got tiresome after a while. A decent restaurant but the decor and interior would need to be updated to compare with places like Novikov and Hakkasan.
Its a nice place but they need to be more creative with their menu. Quite limited. The beef was outstanding quality, but for the price, everything should be outstanding. Not at all wowed by anything offered here, if anything it was quite average for the price. You pay for the name and the service. Otherwise I have had better chinese dishes elsewhere. They need to get with the times in my opinion. Decor dated and audience is older, but menu needs work.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback and delighted to hear you particularly enjoyed the beef dish when dining with us. We strive to stay true to the classic Cantonese cuisine rather than adopt a fusion style of menu, but I am sorry if this did not deliver to your expectation. Our décor is inspired by the glamorous and eclectic Shanghainese art deco style of the 1930's, and has had a complete soft refurbishment in January of this year. I am sorry we failed to wow you on this occasion.
Great place to be to eat dim sum and high quality chinese food.
The atmosphere is nice too and not too loud, allowing for the conversation to flow at your table without being disturbed by the neighbour.
Quite expensive compared to cheap eats you can find in china town but worth it since you get the quality.
Dear Martine, Thank you for sharing your feedback. Delighted you enjoyed your dining experience with us and we look forward to hopefully welcoming you back soon!
