There is no fusion of dishes nor compromise on classical recipes, all are prepared with the freshest ingredients and traditional spices and flavourings. No mono-sodium-glutomate (MSG) shall be used.
The decoration of China Tang will evoke a romantic sense of art deco of the thirties. At the same time, there will be an abundance of Chinoiserie as well as a collection of art from both.

The overall quality of this restaurant is in keeping with being part of the Dorchester. However as we entered down to the dining and bar area it was very noisy, to the point you loudly. The aircon was hit and miss. The place was fully packed with some dinners more dressed for the gym then a place of this high standard. The service was on point and food delivered within normal time frame. But for me the food standard was not as high as I expected given its location. It was ok.
Very good service and food was great the dry spice chicken dish was quite harshly spicy but the other dishes were good esp the hot n sour soup
Friendly reception, beautiful bar, excellent service.
Extensive menu, well staffed with knowledgeable and helpful waiters. Prompt response to settling bill. Separate table for two made for a memorable experience.
Celebrated my sons birthday with the family
As usual food, was amazing Dim Sum selection to begin with tasty piping hot, professionally served
Mains were again served with perfection A big thank you to all the team who looked after us in particular the sommelier who serves the finest Chablis in London
Still remains the finest restaurant in London
The food is OK, it is really noisy and packed. Tables are close to one another , so I could easily hear the conversation of other customers. The waiter is quite attentive, food is ok, not very traditional Cantonese food, more towards British style Chinese food, satay chicken and prawn ? A bit weird
The claypot dish taste nice, I like the aubergine. The chef recommendation is quite expensive but taste only OK , we had the curry squid and fishball, if tastes very British.
Dim Sum was good but mains was highly disappointing. Service was slow even though we visited during the afternoon and they were not very busy at all. Initially presented with metal chopsticks that were painful to use. Decor was not to my liking and staff uniform also not nice on the eyes.
51st Wedding Anniversary
Best Peking duck I’ve ever had! Food and service was excellent and time between courses was just right, we didn’t feel rushed at all and didn’t have to wait too long for each course. Overall a great experience and will definitely go back
Great service, great food, and the atmosphere was top notch. One of my favorite restaurant's while in London. When in London, its always my first choice for dinner.
The dimsum selection was rather ordinary. There are so many other variations and they offer only the common ones. Same with the tea. I asked for a tea list and they recommended JASMINE which is just a usual tea offered at probably every Chinese place. I expected a unique blend worthy of the spectacular surroundings. No one ever came to pour my tea from the pot and in fact no servers ever stopped by my table except to take my order and bring bill.
The setting is beautiful although you may have trouble finding it as you have to go behind a obscure door then down a flight of steps. I probably wouldn’t go again.
Nice celebration choice, food quality meets price and its reputation. Definitely will come back again.
A goto place for Chinese indulgence, all dishes are mastered and spot on! Its more for the taste than grandeur. A great recommended restaurant.
Perfect meal with wonderful service - I have been many times & every time the meal has been absolutely delicious
Ambiance - fantastic. Building, decor, staff attentiveness and as a place to go this was great.
Food - we went for the dim sum. Costs start at £6 for veg, £7 to 12 for nonveg. It is very very standard dim sum that you can get any where else in London for a lot less. There is none of the exceptional flavour or produce that you can get at places like royal China club or yauatcha. The dim sum prions seemed smaller than a lot of places also!
Go for the place, don't go for the food
Its the best Chinese food in UK definitely.50 words is too long
Four family members went for Lunch
3 days later we are still discussing how amazing the food was
The venue is obviously spectacular as is the service
We’ve booked for a family and friends gathering for 10 just before Christmas and we cant wait
Dear Nigel, such glowing praise, thank you very much! So glad you enjoyed your lunch with us and we look forward to welcoming you back in December, if not before. kindest regards Nathalie
I had a lovely birthday dinner. The food was amazing as usual.!!!
Food is always great. We love coming here.
Delicious as always
Food was great - absolutely delightful. The service was a bit lacking unfortunately, we had to ask 3 different members of staff to get the bill. Overall very good though, and would return again!
Good attentive staff both at bar and in restaurant
Best Chinese outside of China! No MSG aftertaste either!
Good quality food
A bit pricey
Service could be more attentive as we had to keep asking for our waiter
Lovely dinner at China Tang - the atmosphere and service were great. The dim sum wasn’t quite as good as I remembered but this was made up for by the duck and the mains which were excellent. Our waiter was helpful and friendly and we enjoyed a leisurely meal over 3 hours.
This was my second outing to China Tang. Definitely much more lively on a Friday night! The food is solid, delicious and very memorable. We eat a lot of Chinese food, and China Tang is definitely a favorite when we come to London. Highly recommend the e-fu noodles with crab, the prawn dumplings and the scallop dumplings.
Friends in town
Dear Guest, I am so sorry to see you were disappointed by your recent dining experience. Please do email me direct at Nathalie.firstname.lastname@example.org with further details so that we may address any short comings as appropriate. We endeavour to ensure all our guest leave having enjoyed their evening and it is always very disappointing to learn when we have not succeeded. I look forward to hearing from you. Kindest regards Nathalie
Poor service all round- waiter seemed fedup- didn’t ask for any drinks once mains came- didn’t topup water in any of the glasses during the meal until the end- didn’t put napkins on our laps before food was served- didn’t bring starters (usually we have mushrooms or something to start off before our food comes but had to ask for them to bring- didn’t get offered desserts just given bill- and then when mentioned this to the manager he didn’t once say sit down and let’s have dessert or let me see what I can do for you- just said ok thanks for feedback- not happy with it if I’m honest especially when you pay for a service and don’t receive it- I feel standards have fallen or it could’ve just been a bad day
The restaurant has privately responded to this review.
Not for celebration dinner only for lunch
The service was quite hit and miss especially with the different waiting staff especially drinks waiters...had no glue
Lovely restaurant with excellent food - the scallops in black bean sauce were just delicious. We over ordered because there were so many dumpling choices & starters to choose from! Unfortunately didn’t make it to dessert....next time!
Best peking duck in london!!
An very average meal for all the hype :-(
Service was awful -food coming out very fast and cleared away fast too- definitely didn’t feel special :-(
As always one of the best chinese food and high quality in London
I expected a lot more from this restaurant, the food was pretty average in comparison to the prices. Ribs to start had barely any meat on, they cane so quick it was almost as if they had been microwaved. This wa recommended by a friend and I Was definitely disappointed.
Outstanding service! I love this place.
It was my mums birthday they gave us compliments macaroons and truffles!
I was expecting a high class restaurant. I was disappointed. The place smelt like sewerage. It was so distracting. Thankfully when the food came, the smell of the food was able to compete with the sewerage.
It was practically empty, but we did go at 4:30.
The food is nothing that you can’t pick up from any Chinese on any high street in the UK. Just at 4 times the price.
Not dreadful, but not a standard I would expect from a restaurant associated with The Dorchester
Dear Mr Page, I am so sorry to hear you were underwhelmed by your recent visit, the last seating at 4:30pm on a Monday lunch is not a particular popular time. Without prior warning to us, the main drains on Park Lane were being cleaned that day, which filtered into our fresh air intake and air handling unit. Understandably this will have impacted your enjoyment and will contact you direct on your email to put this right. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. kindest regards Nathalie
The worst Chinese restaurant in the town，
Dear Guest, I am so sorry you were clearly most dissatisfied with your recent dining experience. This concerns me greatly. I would be most grateful for further insight. Please do contact me direct on Nathalie.email@example.com. Kindest regards Nathalie Ford - General Manager
Excellent restaurant, fantastic dimsum and wonderful duck.
Beautiful food great service lovely ambience ..fine dining at its best
Squid was too salty. Food didn’t come in an order that made sense - we had requested starters and dim sum come first but the food just rolled out in a random order. Service was slow and the attention of servers had to be specifically sought although there seemed to be many of them on ground. The servers were however pleasant.
