   My mom and I took a trip to Ireland together from the US and wanted the castle high tea experience. This exceeded all expectations! It was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Highly recommend it!

   From the moment I drove up to the gates the staff were so friendly and smiling, they could not be more helpful. The gentleman who served us was so efficient but had a sense of humour and made us feel so welcome. I have been to Ashford Castle so many times and it never disappoints. You have the best local staff and they represent Ashford and the area so well.

    Loved the experience.. My daughter is 26, her 1st time there & loved it! I have 2 practical suggestions 1 The desserts came with the sandwiches straight away - we had them last of course, im concerned that they were sitting there for over an hour and a half before we ate them, surely you can return them to the kitchen after we see them first and bring them out again later? 2 please leave 1 copy of the menu so we can look at it and read again what exactly the food was and the various teas - we had to keep asking for the menu back! Thank you, I'd love to hear back with your comments.

We bring the pastries out as many people do wish to go straight into them, but of course can keep these in the kitchen should you desire.     Very disappointed with the food. It was all very bland and tasteless. The staff couldn’t have been nicer but there is something seriously wrong in the kitchen. I’ve been coming here regularly for 35 years but the Afternoon Tea just isn’t good enough.

    My friend and I absolutely loved afternoon tea. Of all the afternoon tea we have had this is by far one of the best. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. The team members serving were really great - Denis, Thomas, and I think Ciara? Can’t remember the name of the fourth lady but she was great and helpful too. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

    It was our first Afternoon Tea and we loved it! The room was cosy and the atmosphere so relaxing. The staff was very very very friendly. We felt like we could ask anything they would do it to please us. A special mention to the girl from Hungary who was very friendly and smiling the whole time. She took time to explain us what was inside the little sandwiches and pastries. We will definitely recommend the afternoon tea at Ashford!

    We are 4 school friends who celebrated our friend’s upcoming wedding. It was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. The staff were so lovely & took photos of us all. Our table was on it’s own in a little room before the main tea room, absolutely beautiful. The staff had organised a little treat for the bride to be, such a lovely gesture. Would recommend & hopefully return in the future. Thanks to all the staff

    In addition to tea, we ordered the champagne tasting for four. For servings two and three, we had to ask for the servings. Our server ( a gentleman whose name I can't recall) did a poor job of checking on us throughout our stay. There was a young woman who pitched in and helped out when we asked her as she was passing by. Really we felt somewhat neglected by the fellow who first served us. We were seated just outside the entrance to the kitchen. One of the female servers would enter the kitchen and start speaking and laughing loudly while the door to the dining room was still opened. While not horrible, it did detract from the overall ambience of the experience. the above are the cons. The pros? From the guards at the gates, to the doorman, to the woman at the front desk, we were offered a warm and friendly greeting by all. The Connaught room is lovely- and the view? Just beautiful. The background music was enjoyable and at just the right decible level. The tea and the food were delectable. The presentation was picture worthy. We would without a doubt recommend tea at the Ashford .We hope to return on our next trip to Ireland and next time include a stay at the hotel. One more note- the rose champagne you served was so good we are going out today to pick up a bottle or two, Thank You Ashford for a wonderful experience.

    We visited Ashford Castle for Afternoon tea and were blown away by how beautiful the castle and grounds were, and the tea service was really lovely. The food and tea was great and the server attentive. If I am in Ireland again in the future I will make sure to add Ashford to the itinerary!

    TL/DR: absolutely have the afternoon tea - it was phenomenal - and skip dinner at George V. We loved the afternoon tea experience. Service was high quality and detailed, the drinks (we had tea and finished with champagne) were delicious, and the food was above average. The sandwiches weren’t standout items from my perspective, but the bread they were served on was so soft and fresh. The sweet items, particularly the cheese scone with lemon curd, were delicious. The view from our seats was of the castle garden and lake; it was incredibly beautiful. I don’t see how any other afternoon tea experience could rival this one. Dinner at George V was a very poor experience which I only include here in the event someone is planning one or both of these dining experiences.

    Had a little afternoon tea with my husband and toddler for my birthday! The grounds are just beautiful! Luckily the rain held off whilst we walked around and then we were seated a little early for our tea! It was lovely the staff were extremely attentive and it was such a lovely atmosphere! Definitely convinced me to book a nights stay. Even at that price. The attention to detail makes it worth it.

    We went here for afternoon tea to celebrate a special birthday and we enjoyed it so much. Thomas, our waiter, was so welcoming and an absolute delight to deal with.     My cousin and I are both gluten free. I was very pleased with the offerings we were given during the tea. The staff is excellent, the view is amazing, and the room is gorgeous. I will definitely do it the next time I visit. It was a lot of food and we walked away with leftovers to snack on later.

    Afternoon tea was a delight. We were able to tour the grounds prior to our reservation and we were treated like royalty by all staff. We enjoyed the champagne flight option.
