Best American Restaurants in Newington

Not only is Mount Vernon a magnificent place to visit, but the restaurant there is wonderful. I have lived in the Washington DC area for 55 years and gone to hundreds of restaurants in that time. Here they make the best filet mignon that I have had anywhere. And you would think it wouldn't be difficult to make hericot vert. I have been presented with that 100 times in restaurants and half the time it's either too soggy, tasteless, or barely even cooked properly. Here it melts in your mouth. The prices are reasonable, wine prices are reasonable as well, and the service is great. I would like to go once a week if I lived closer. My dinner companions loved every bit of their food as well. Everybody had a different entree.

The staff were wonderful, efficient and very cordial. We had a large group of 13 for a birthday dinner and everyone LOVED their meals! No issues with getting 3 separate checks. It was a little noisy when we first got there but this was due to a Friday night and it gradually quieted down. Nicholas, the Manager, checked in and we told him everything was great. Would highly recommend for a celebration dinner.

Great meal. Perfect cocktails. Our waiter, Will, was exceptional.

Terrific family dining experience. Delicious food and attentive wait staff. This is a great place for family gatherings!

We had a party of about ten with my two children and our friends. Aman provided great service as our waiter. We took advantage of the Sunday football deals and got excellent food, drinks and service at a very affordable price!
