Best Californian Restaurants in Chula Vista / Bonita

As a San Diego native, and a neighborhood resident, I highly recommend you dine at Starlight! My husband and I watched the long renovation and wondered what they were doing and why it took so long. After trying to get a reservation for months, we snagged one on a Monday evening to celebrate our anniversary and experienced the beauty, fantastic ambiance, and delicious food! Starlight was more than what we imagined! Every detail is accounted for. As you walk through the hexagon entrance, you enter a space like beautiful environment. There are booths with realistic stars, rock on the walls, beautiful chandelier, hexagon tables, space like mirrored ceiling, every detail fit the theme. It doesn’t stop there, as you walk through the sliding door that makes you feel like you are exiting a space ship you walk up stars to a beautiful 2nd dinning area filled with white rock and fascinating decor, after making your way to another amazing bar you could enter the 3rd dinning area where guest can dine by a magnificent waterfall. I was truly impressed by the design and detail of the restaurant. Our server was fabulous! The food was delicious! We ordered the sausage plate as an appetizer and the sausage was cooked great. We than ordered the steak sampler which was four 3oz cuts of different steaks with 4 sauces on the side. We asked to have it cooked chefs choice and it was on point! You have to get the twice baked potato! My husband and I split it but selfishly I wished I didn’t have to share lol. It was that good. We also had the crab Louie salad. They did it right in my book. It was light but flavorful. The crab was real breaded crab! It was really good. We also ordered the croissant which was good. I had the cola mocktail and it was refreshing! Even the 2 espressos we ordered Came in futuristic cups. Even though we were stuffed we had to try the honey cake. The hexagon shaped cake was worth every bite! We will be back! Highly recommend!

This is the 5th time we have been here, and it keeps getting better and better! Our server Shaun was amazing, and the entire team went out of their way to make us feel special. The drinks are fantastic and the food was perfect! The ambiance and decor make you feel like you are in the Mediterranean. It has become our favorite place on the island. It feels classy but not stuffy. Definitely a place you want to visit.

We experienced excellent service in a beautiful setting at Treo. We booked a second dinner reservation before we left the restaurant. The burrata salad was one of the best I’ve ever eaten, and their mushroom pasta dish was outstanding.

My husband and I visited to celebrate our anniversary, and the experience exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Everything that came out, from the drinks to the food, was incredible and beautifully presented. Even better, all of our dishes arrived quickly without ever feeling rushed. My husband has never liked lamb and would usually avoid ordering it, but that completely changed after trying it here. It was cooked perfectly and completely changed his opinion of the dish. What truly made the experience special was the staff's thoughtfulness. They congratulated us on our anniversary multiple times throughout the evening, making us feel genuinely celebrated. They also surprised us with two complimentary desserts and champagne, which was such a kind and memorable touch. The combination of outstanding food, prompt service, and genuine hospitality made this an unforgettable anniversary dinner. We can't wait to return and highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a special dining experience.
