Best Contemporary Italian Restaurants in Scotch Plains

As always exceeding expectations the Chefs and their Staff are a step above.

We were a party of 4, the food was delicious. Beet salads were yummy, the French Onion Soup with garlic exceptional, for entrees the portions were huge and delicious. One Veal Parm, 2 Garlic Shrimp, and 1 daily special Pork Chop, 'twas great. Waiter was great, we were never rushed, pace was perfect.

This was our third attempt at finding a restaurant open on this Sunday evening and then I remembered this storefront restaurant from over 20 years ago. I always heard good things, but never got here since they expanded and made it so pleasurable for dining. I loved how there was room between the tables so people are not on top of each other. The dining area is very nice and there is even a room for small parties. We were greeted with a friendly smile and our server was excellent. Thank you, Enrique, for sharing your opinions about the foods we asked about and we were certainly pleased with our main entree selections and the beautiful presentations. I ordered the halibut special with herbed seasoning and the zucchini shrimp risotto was superb. I thought there would be baby shrimp, but better yet, full size chunks cut up small. It was so tasty and the portion was plentiful but I did take half home because I had salad before. My friend ordered the regular shrimp dish on the menu less the chili spices and she loved it. Everything is prepared the way you ask and things can be deleted. The bread was just average in my opinion, but everything else was superb and look forward to dining here again. The prices were fair and affordable for this moderate upscale restaurant. I loved that they paced the meals and food did not come out in a speedy fashion. Although we did not have dessert, the ones that was coming out to other tables looked delicious. Highly recommend Taormina!

Our first time at Foccaceria. The rooms were cozy with a limited number of tables. Our server and support crew were friendly, courteous. Service was prompt, excellent timing between courses and the dishes we had were outstanding, including the desserts. Glad we found this warm and inviting restaurant. We’ll be back!
