We've been going to Zazie for 22 plus years and the restaurant never fails to be even better than the last time we were there.
We went for a b'day dinner, 6 of us, and everyone had something a bit different and we shared as we always do and everything was perfect.
We started with Sparkly to celebrate a birthday and the 3 appetizer combination.
And then with dinner had the from Lodi Cab Franc and it was delicious! I love cab francs and happy to see it on the wine list.
Birthday girl had the French Onion Soup and praised it. She also got the Polenta from the Entree section. 2 in our party ordered the steak and were very pleased with it. The Brandy Cream sauce was wonderful! My daughter got the Prix Fixe menu and also ordered the Polenta. Someone else ordered the Bourride and I asked if they were skimpy on the fish and she said no, just the right abount.
And those wonderful rolls kept coming around. You need them to did up the sauces.
After my Paris visit a few years ago, finding good Tartar here in the States is hard. Zazie does a great job and took me back to France. I also got a salad, the Salade Lyonnaise, not a traditional dinner, but it hit the spot for me.
When I made the reservation I requested the back as it is quieter than the main dining room. Our server was awesome and the busser was phenomenal! He kept the dirty plates off the table, brought bottles of water without our asking.
I always stop by the kitchen window on my way out to let the cooks know what a wonderful job they did for dinner service!
All in all, birthday girl loved Zazie!
