Visiting Little Tokyo in DTLA for the first time, opentable reviews guided me here and it was a smashing hit! From the appetizers to a wide range of yakitori paired with sake, and served with warm enthusiasm from the kitchen and dining staff, my family enjoyed a fun night out. It was very cool to see tuna cutting for the first time. We got lucky and won the raffle to the kamatoro cut, and it was no doubt the highlight of our meal. The cut was tender, juicy and buttery and worth every dollar. We also ordered tuna sashimi and sushi, which were fresh but the quality of the fish was less stellar. It was heavy on the akami and not much toro, and certain cuts were stringy and harder to chew. Overall this was a very unique experience, and I very much appreciate Shinsengumi for bringing cultural events like this to our neighborhood. I will definitely return for future events.
