It was very cool to see tuna cutting for the first time. We got lucky and won the raffle to the kamatoro cut, and it was no doubt the highlight of our meal. The cut was tender, juicy and buttery and worth every dollar. We also ordered tuna sashimi and sushi, which were fresh but the quality of the fish was less stellar. It was heavy on the akami and not much toro, and certain cuts were stringy and harder to chew. Overall this was a very unique experience, and I very much appreciate Shinsengumi for bringing cultural events like this to our neighborhood. I will definitely return for future events.

It was our first time at Budonoki & we were welcomed by the entire serving staff upon walking in the door. It was so special to be greeted and seated in such a classy manner. (& The music was so on point!) The service was phenomenal and all of the 5 dishes we ordered were a hit! We tried 4 different cocktails…it was such a fun experience! We can’t wait to go back & party with Joe!

Visiting Little Tokyo in DTLA for the first time, opentable reviews guided me here and it was a smashing hit! From the appetizers to a wide range of yakitori paired with sake, and served with warm enthusiasm from the kitchen and dining staff, my family enjoyed a fun night out. Topped by a creme brulee birthday surprise for our son. Done arigato gozaimasu どうもありがとうございます

If you've been to Akami before, you'll love the newest location. Taking over the space formerly known as Otto Otto, it's much bigger than the Live Oak location and features a much expanded menu, including skewers and ramen. The ambiance is nice enough for a special occasion. During their soft opening, they did not have their liquor license yet so enjoy soft drinks or hot tea in the meantime. The food is the same high quality you've come to expect. Welcome and I wish them much success in this new location.
