Who knew you could have absolutely amazing omakase in a Long Island strip mall? From the moment you walk in to the dark cocktail lounge until you leave 2 hours later, this experience is all about indulgence in the best possible way. While the cocktail menu is limited each offering was unique and the one I tried with tequila, yuzu and pineapple was delicious. When it is time to be seated, you are escorted through a secret door to the 12-14 seat counter. We were seated right in front of the sushi chef in charge of slicing the fish and forming the nigiri. Dinner AND a show! Each dish was exquisitely prepared. The lobster, scallop and squid starter and the amber jack with some sort of garlic sauce were standouts among an overall excellent menu. I don’t normally go for the beverage pairing but this one was spot on - one glass of rose champagne, one of red wine (with Wagyu beef and fois gras courses) and 4 different sakes. The service was exceptional throughout. This place does it right from start to finish!
