One of those rare evenings that truly stands out. The collaboration between Chef Nathan Rich of Twin Farms and Chef Mitsunobu Nagae was finely curated and expertly choreographed, bringing American and French cuisine together with Japanese flair. Every course was beautifully conceived, but the surprising tomato granita, Maine lobster, cavatelli with pork belly and the Wagyu were especially memorable. The service was exquisite yet warm and personal; despite arriving late, I was welcomed less like a guest than a member of the family. Even the farewell was thoughtful: a madeleine to take home. Eating it with coffee the next morning brought the dinner rushing back—the food, the people and the rain falling on Tribeca’s cobblestones. L’Abeille found a way to make the evening continue after I had left. Bien joué.
