It was my first time dining at Camelia as I’ve been meaning to give it a try. Had a good friend and his wife visiting from out of town who really enjoy dining out at upscale but comfortable restaurants.
We all had a most enjoyable evening dining at Camelia. The cuisine was elevated but not overly done. Other than our salad being a bit overdressed and the fish serving on the small side, which in itself reality didn’t detract at all from our enjoyment of the cuisine.
The service we received was a standout. Our waitress was earnest and friendly and a shoutout to Patrick, the manager on duty, whose easy and very attentive service, was very much appreciated. Being in the restaurant business myself with 9 units and 400 employees, I can unequivocally say that he’s a gem for sure. Oh, and I must mention the ambiance and say that it’s layered in a way that an experienced restaurateur would appreciate as a diner. Kudos to the owners and team for bringing this easy and very enjoyable space to life. I just felt good being there and isn’t that what it should be about?
I’ll definitely return to dine at Camelia again and hope that others will continue to do so. We’ve seen enough good restaurants in LA close in the last several years and would like to see this one stay off that list.
