A wonderful location. Wish it had windows overlooking the castle. Food was good but not great. Not a restaurant for foodies. Salmon was fresh. I had the Osso Bucca and it was dry. Split a salad and it need more dressing. The bread was a disappointment. Ended up with vegan bread. Deconstructed their chocolate fudge Sunday and it was okay.

We had lovely weather which allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the incredible view. We had mussels and the peri peri chicken sandwich. The waitress, Ciara, was superb. She asked if liked cream in the mussels Marinere sauce and was just generally extremely attentive, personable and not over-bearing. She definitely enhanced the already brilliant experience.

We ate here twice in the two nights we were in Cong. After eating boring fish and chips for two weeks, this was very well prepared and presented, and of the highest quality. If you are used to eating good food, this is the only place to eat.

The overall service and good was very good but the rice pudding was not available. It is my favourite. However the icecream substitute was worth eating.

It took 40 minutes for our starters to arrive. When they did the oysters were badly shucked and the soup had plastic.
It was basicaly disorganised with weak service. It is a shame as the food was overall good. Waitress failed to tell us the specials and then had to ask the kitchen.

Had dinner with family while staying in Ashlie’s for a special family occasion. Superb food, absolutely incredible service and just so friendly. Would recommend without hesitation and the seafood platter was the highlight of the evening. A superb experience overall and excellent service from young Mark.

This was the best meal I experienced during a recent trip to Ireland. The setting on the grounds of Ashford Castle is breathtaking and the décor and ambiance of the restaurant were spot on. I am not sure I have come across a more impressive restaurant manager and the service staff were friendly and capable.

This is our second trip to Ashford Castle and third dinner at Cullen’s in the last year. Overall, it was very good dinner. Awesome cocktails. Scallops were excellent and the chicken was great as well. The poke bowl also hit the spot. We would definitely recommend for a casual, less expensive option when visiting Ashford Castle or Cong.

Firstly the staff were very attentive without being intrusive, they were friendly without being too familiar.
I was a little disappointed with the food, the chowder wasn’t as flavorful as I’d expected, it’s consistency was very thin and it is a small portion, although our waiter brought me extra soup. The herring on the grilled fish platter was in edible because it was far too salty.

On our forth stay at Ashford Castle we again looked forward to visiting Cullen's at The Cottage, we have never been disappointed with our choice of meals, in particular Catch of the Day.
One will never be disappointed with whatever choice chosen. I recommend highly to visit Cullen's at the Cottage on your stay at Ashford Castle. We have eaten twice at Cullen's on our six day stay at the Castle March 2018 Staff very attentive to every need and everyone has a great personality, food and presentatiin was superb, I higly recommend a visit. The Nautical themed surroundings and memorabilia beautiful. Alan I hope you have enjoyed the Best Restaurants Awards you were do to attend. My husband and I look forward to our next visit which we have already booked with the Castle. Well done to a fabulous Chef and team.

Very Best Wishes

We had such a wonderful time at Cullens that we went back there two days later! Very good service, great wine list, the fish and chips had the most amazing mushy peas I have ever had. It is slightly formal, yet we were not made feel uncomfortable bringing our young children. Would highly recommend it.
