This was our second visit to this restaurant. The first time the food was good and we were served by the bartender in a timely fashion. On this night the entire seating area was filled with people at 5:30 PM because they actually advertise on the back of the theater tickets offering 20% off for theater goers. We have season tickets so it seemed like a good idea. Our server, Loretta was friendly and professional with a warm smile. However, after receiving our appetizers no one ever came to check how they were until we were finished. My soup was not hot and I would have asked for a warm-up or a new bowl but nobody came by so I just ate it. We also weren’t given any bread or side plates at all which was an oversight considering we had ordered a shareable apppetizer. Service was very slow. We waited quite a long time before receiving our entrees. Then my husband’s steak was overcooked. Again, we had to flag someone down and ask for a new steak. My husband felt that if he was spending nearly $50 for a steak it should be cooked properly. A refire on a steak should be a priority. A medium-rare steak should be done in 7”. We waited at least 20” while other tables received food. My husband had finished his side dish and I had finished my scallops before his new steak arrived. They did take the steak off the bill which we appreciated. I did notice what appeared to be a manager assisting with dropping off checks and even taking orders. I believe they were overwhelmed early, not prepared for the number of diners they accepted. There were also tables being served in the hotel lobby at that time. The chili cornbread is delicious. Just don’t go before the theater crowd. More

Discover Denver

Located just an hour’s drive from the trifecta of ski resorts—Aspen, Vail and Breckenridge—and nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains; Denver is scaling the ranks of the country’s most desirable places to live. And while Colorado’s capital city is a world class hub of winter recreations, a booming restaurant scene is on the rise, too. Brunch waits now rival those of its coastal counterparts. Sounds a little weird given Denver’s land-locked nature, but sushi is also popular here. Downtown, you’ll find Italian Trattorias, sprawling beer gardens, and a slew of coffee shops that range from pour over bars to laid-back, locals-only spots. Larimer Square forms the heart of downtown’s historic district and houses upscale restaurants fit for special occasions. On the outskirts of town, Red Rocks Amphitheater draws festival crowds for its outdoor acoustics and epic views.
