The long established tradition of Afternoon Tea has been wonderfully preserved at Ashford Castle since 1868 - you’ll notice the original silver tea set displayed in the Connaught Room, which was presented to Lord and Lady Ardilaun to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 1896. With spectacular views from the comfort of the castle’s elegant interior, take your time to savour every delicious moment.

The Afternoon Tea menu offers guests a wide selection of speciality teas or perhaps a glass of Champagne, delicate finger sandwiches, warm freshly baked scones with lashings of cream and home-made jam, not to mention our tasty pastries. It’s the perfect way to spend a leisurely afternoon with friends.

Please note that all visitors will be directed to our car park located across the bridge and a shuttle will be provided. Should there be any delays please call the hotel.

Connaught Room at Ashford Castle is worth the experience. Our waitress was amazing. Very personable. I think her name was Vickie... my spelling is probably wrong. Food and drinks were great. We also added the champagne tasting. It is expensive, but worth the experince overall.

We were met by friendly staff, who were competent and attentive. Great service. I had duck spring rolls and Thai chicken stir fry. It was delicious. The place has a lovely atmosphere and was immaculate. Well worth our time and money. Fabulous.

My friends and I had a long overdue catch up, we’ve been friends for over 30 years and it was great to make time and spend it together. Katie served us and she was lovely and welcoming and took all our orders by memory which was very impressive. The food was delicious and teas and coffees equally so too. We had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing each again at the Gourmet Food Parlour.

I had a great evening dining here with three friends. We were warmly welcomed by the host, Maria, and our server, Zuzana, was professional and attentive, regularly checking in on us throughout the meal. We ordered a mix of pizzas and the tempura prawns — everything was absolutely delicious, with the prawns perfectly crisp and the pizzas full of flavour. Great food, lovely service, and a relaxed atmosphere — we’ll definitely be back!
