Having been here on three previous occasions and always having a great time this time very disappointed. The food was good but the guy who rushed in to “perform” was awful.. he was self indulgent and loud .. not a good experience!

My newest go to theatre district restaurant. Their prefix meals are always delicious with enough choices for any taste buds. The service is excellent and always friendly.

We went here because the reviews were excellent. We expected a big crowd but we were the only diners on a Sunday at 5pm. That worried me but I can tell you staying was the best thing!! The waiter explained Sunday’s are not consistent. I don’t know why. In my opinion they should be full every day!! Excellent service and food!! I was with my mama so she knows, wink.

I stopped in for dinner before a show. I had the braised short ribs. It was served without bones and came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables which were cut like speghetti and buttered. There was a thick hearty gravy. Meat was tender and everything was delicious. The portions was large. The service was exemplary. There is a very nice piano bar where I had an after dinner drink. I will be back the next time I am in NYC. This is a very nice place and I defintely recommend this restaurant.

For a casual night out this was a lovely restaurant. We didn't see the comedy etc just popped in for a meal. I am wheat and dairy free and they were very helpful to accommodate my needs.

The only annoying thing was the door from the restaurant to the club was in constant use and right by our table.

The nightclub looks like it would be fun but we were there for dinner before a show. The service was pathetic -- our server had no idea what dishes they offered or how they were done. She was in no hurry to get us drinks, or water or even our food. The price for what we had was reflective of the neighborhood, not the cuisine.

Seating was tight. Had 3 course meal from price fix menu ($32 pp). The meal was good, not great, but worth the value, Drinks were NYC pricy $11 for wine $13 for liquor, so bill was almost double of the price fix. The service was good, not overly attentive. Due to tight space it got rather loud.

My meal was satisfactory, if pricey. The service was warm and also satisfactory. The location is perfect for pre-theatre dining.

However, I'm currently debating with Open Table because I should've been credited with 1000 points (as was the offer when I made my online reservation), but only got 100 points. I don't know why this discrepancy happened, but it has tarnished my view of the restaurant, as well as of Open Table...

I came here for an early dinner between the Harry Potter plays on Sunday, and was seated promptly although I arrived a little early for my reservation. I had the mixed salad, BBQ spare rib and the lemon meringue pie with coffee. Food was fine and the service was very professional. Since only 1 or 2 other tables were occupied at time, the place was quiet. This is a handy place for bite if you are attending the theatre nearby.

We had a wonderful time again at Don’t Tell Mama. My salmon portion was very small. I felt they should have picked a bigger piece or maybe even combined 2 pieces since they were so small.
But it was delicious. Our waiter was great. We had a lovely dinner.

The food was great — the service was okay — it was very noisy, difficult to have normal conversation. The piano bar was awesome....

I would come again.

Great location right off Broadway. A fun atmosphere, good service and good food. Given the choices of restaurants in the area, I would probably not return and would try somewhere new.

We loved dinner at Don't Tell Mama. My salad and Shrimp Scampi were outstanding, and there were ample wine choices -- we loved the pinot noir we ended up with. Service was friendly and prompt. We would definitely go back.

The food was just okay and the portions were small. The best part of the meal was dessert.
It is a small room and there was a family of 14 with small children. The noise level was impossible and we ate as fast as we could to get out of there. I understand that is not the fault of the restaurant but they should let patrons know when they book that kind of group. Other than that group and two tables it was empty. I will not be returning. The staff was very nice but could not overcome the noise and the food.

The service was great, as we were running late before a show and needed to rush a little bit! Our server made sure everything came out quickly, without feeling rushed, and we still made it to the theater with plenty of time to spare! The food was tasty, the restaurant was quiet, especially for a Sunday night. Overall, great experience

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience for four at Don't Tell Mama NYC. Duck with couscous was delicious! Drinks were bigger and cheaper in restaurant than at bar. Wait in piano lounge was cramped, but nice music. Restaurant is small, so seating is close. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Overall, nice evening.

The food was fine but the service and speed were pretty bad. We had to ask for everything. From water, to bread, to another drink. It was very frustrating. It appeared they were understaffed. We made our reservation for 6 and I had to take my dessert to go since we had an 8:00 show.
My salmon was tasty. The lamb chops were very good too. You just have to be prepared to wait or give yourself a lot of extra time.

Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant section - which assured us of a great seat in the adjoining piano bar where the extremely talented pianist, Paddy, accompanied the wait staff who would break into song and/or take the mic after 9 pm. 'had an absolutely wonderful evening in NYC's theater district.

We went for the first time based off the recommendation of a friend and absolutely LOVED it. The ambiance was great, the food and drinks were delicious and then our dessert was phenomenal. We each ordered something different so we could taste the others (4 in all) especially the Chocolate Prada and we thoroughly enjoyed each of them. The cost was also reasonable for the quality we received.

Two of us stopped in pre theater in January. We had been here once before in the summer and every table was taken plus a long wait. This time we found it pleasantly uncrowded. The food was delicious and the service spot on. We were not rushed out at all (probably due to it being a slow night, but still we appreciated it). As native New Yorkers we feel we found a gem and would return again.
