Drury Buildings Ratings and Reviews
I'd only been for drinks in Drury Buildings before & had a great night then so was looking forward to going for dinner there. The restaurant is upstairs but the noise from the bar didn't travel. Food was delicious, staff were attentive and atmosphere was great. Only reason I marked down for service was an extra starter arrived when not ordered and we had to remind them of our coffee order.
Another fantastic evening at Drury Buildings - we booked for 6:30pm and opted for the pre-theatre menu. Everything was perfect for an evening meal with friends. The aperitif cocktails (1 Negroni and 2 Aperol Spritz) were expertly made. The starter of peach/ Parma ham/ ricotta was one of the nicest I've ever tasted and the main of crab linguine was also delicious. We shared a cheese plate for dessert having shared a bottle of wine over dinner. We then decided on a digestif and were able to move to the outdoor mezzanine area. Our waiters for the evening were fantastic - friendly but not intrusive. Overall, a great experience and I can't wait to come back again.
Really have to commend the staff here-fantastic. Sommelier completely charming, nice to be greeted at the door and waiting staff excellent too. Fabulous gin cocktail to start, followed by good charcuterie and an ok crab linguine. Loud buzzy place-be prepared for noise! Great spot for friends get together.
Great venue, great menu, great food - unfortunately heavily under-staffed. The service wasn't bad, because the staff were un-attentive but it was bad because the few staff available weren't able to sufficiently look after the amount of patrons in the restaurant. We waited 1.5hrs for our meal, from sitting down! Although the food was great, once it arrived - we didn't order desserts as by that stage it was very late.
Had a lovely lunch here on Saturday. Loved the decor and will definitely go back to try it for dinner. The mozzarella and tomato starter was particularly good. My friend is a veggie and loved
the risotto. We were a little disappointed in the rhubarb mousse.
Had a really enjoyable dinner here with a friend one Thursday night. The food and wine was delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. Will definitely return to taste some of the other options on the menu. Definitely a restaurant to try if you are looking for tasty, good quality food in the city centre!
The dervice here is really good. Atmosphere for a Friday evening was a bit slow until about 7.30 but then it really picked up. The starter menu had two options not available and the mains had no chicken. Plenty of seafood/ pasta options though. What we did order was good, but it's a tad expensive for casual dining.
Your lovely staff deserve an award for patience. We arrived rather flat after England losing but determined to celebrate a Birthday. We changed tables, faffed for half an hour about over a white table wine
( legendary) and couldn't decide what to eat. Staff all smiled, chatted and helped. Brilliant. Thank you.
Wow! What an amazing experience we had. We are visiting Dublin and decided to have a special meal out. We had the Pre-theater menu because we'd been out sightseeing all day and started at 5:30 (17:30)!!! They made us feel so special and helpfully paired our wine for us - best choices!! They gave us hints on where to travel during the rest of the trip - anyways, honestly the best service and the best meal we had in Dublin. Thank you so much everyone at The Drury Buildings you guys really made our trip special and our date night out away from home remarkable.
Wondering where to take visiting friends from London we finally decided on DB, we weren't disappointed and they loved it!
Wonderful front of house lady got us to our table early so we could talk to and hear each other!
Gorgeous food, sharing antipasti board to start + beautiful olives. Seriously good fish main courses, though plenty of choices to suit both vegetarian and carnivores! Desserts to satisfy all cravings for chocolate, fruit, ice cream and cheeses!
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
Food was lovely. Buyt the service was abysmal.30 mins waiting for desert menu so gave up and asked for coffee instead another 25 mins waiting on the that. Pretty snappy tho when I asked for the bill. Then another 15 minutes waiting to get a=our coats ended up getting them ourselves. very disappointing as it was a special occasion.
Unbelievably bad service! Waited 30 minutes from being seated with menus to being asked what we'd like to drink. Our waitress appeared to avoid our table at all costs until food was ready. Twice during our meal we had to flag down a waitress/waiter to try and order additional glass of wine after waiting patiently for someone to come by and ask. Ordered dessert, coffee and a cocktail (from a different waitress than the original one) and the cocktail never arrived - when I went over to the waitress at the counter and asked her, it was apparent she completely forgot (very nicely comp'd it). When I'd arrived at the restaurant I had indicated to the initial waitress that I wanted to treat my friends without any fuss and left my credit card with her so that when we asked for the bill, she would just use my card. Alas, when we asked for the bill there was no recollection of me giving my credit card as it was a different waitress and the initial one had never mentioned it. We ended up in the situation of debating over who was paying (which was exactly what I wanted to avoid). So, food was great, ambience lovely but what we'd expected would be ~2.5 hour dinner ended up being 3.5 hours (maybe even more due to the abominably slow service).
We were here on Christmas eve for a lunch sitting. When I confirmed the reservation I explained I needed a highchair and they assured me there would be one. Ordinarily I wouldn't be so pushy about this but as it was Christmas eve and we were with family it was a requirement.
We were kept waiting 30 mins for our table standing in the bar downstairs and when I asked the Maitre D' where our highchair was, he told me it was on a first come first served basis. Understandable if we were a walk in, not someone who was waiting to be seated for 30 mins! No apologies made. He seemed put out by us. Granted if you don't like children, but don't accept reservations with children if you don't want them in your restaurant!
Thankfully our waiter made up for the Maitre D's rudeness. And the food was outstanding. Worth a visit, just ignore the ignorance when you are being seated. It'll be worth it.
My husband and I visited the Drury Buildings for the first time and were looking forward to a new dinning experience in this very vibrant and urban venue. To be honest we were both taken a- back a little as the volume from the downstairs bar was a little more than we are normally use to in a restaurant ! However on saying that we soon adapted to it whilst having a pre dinner drink .
The greeting staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. The dining room was busy and also vibrant with lots of pre-Christmas cheer .The staff who took our orders ,served and generally looked after us from start to finish were exceptionally friendly and very good at their job. The varied food and wine menu was very good and our chosen dishes were presented well and delicious also . The coffee was the only let down .... not hot enough :( We would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends when in Dublin and hopefully will get back ourselves at some stage .
