Fade Street Social - The Gastro Bar
Whether you’re going to the theatre, coming back from show or just enjoying the company of friends this is a casual experience that is always fun and engaging.
Sat, Sun 12:30–15:30
The meat portions in the gastro bar are overpriced given how small they are. Wouldn’t be rushing back.
I brought a friend, her first time, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
We ate in the Tapas part of Fade St. Social. We started with a cocktail each and then a glass of wine. We picked various options from the menu, all was well presented and very tasty. The highlight was the soft shell crabs deep fried, amazing!
One disappointment - the pillows of goats cheese were not pillows but cold crunchy shells with little or no goats cheese inside - would not recommend. However, after pointing this out, the Restaurant staff apologised and stated we would not be charged for it.
Very warm attentive staff.
Bill came to €55 each including a tip, quite reasonably priced.
It was a great evening with lovely food and very friendly and attentive staff. The food arrived very quickly and was of a very high standard. I would say however that the noise level was very high in the restaurant and it did make conversation quite difficult.
Excellent food and service.
The Tapas was inventive and delicious, presentation was superb.
Service staff were attentive and friendly but not over eager.
Happy to recommend to anyone 👍🏻
Ambiance was lovely and our table was perfect, they forgot about the bread and came with repeated food which we had not ordered but once noted everything was fixed quickly
the staff was very nice and great at recommending cocktails and tapas, especially the Brazilian lady and Brazilian guy who served us
they even noticed that it was one of our birthdays and brought out a dessert with a candle which was a lovely gesture
while the tapas are a bit overpriced the quality makes up for it
Would definitely return
Everyone was very helpful and friendly, the food was tasty and we were advised well on portions to order. Great atmosphere. We will be recommending and returning.
The food was good but service was very slow. We ordered tapas and our final dishes arrived more than 30 mins before the previous. The dishes too were very small and had they all arrived together we would have ordered more but the slow service prevented this. All in all I would rate it just fine.
Celebrating our fathers 70th bday. Amazing food and service!
The food, as always, was amazing. The flavours are so unique. Portions seem to have shrunk in size a bit and prices increased. Service was excellent and a lovely vibrant but not too noisy atmosphere. Perfect for pre-theatre.
Price of the tapas dishes are too expensive to the size of them
Food only Ok, very small portions, expensive for what it was.. deserts were disappointing..
I’ve been here many times but I am disappointed in the new menu. The goats logs and replaced with goats cheese airbags which taste like nothing. The cured salmon was tasty but minuscule. Duck spring roles were ok. The waiters are always friendly and efficient. compared to other tapas style restaurants in the area the food and the value isn’t great. Bring back the logs.
Fun venue with fabulous food- slightly too dark for comfort (needed to use my phone torch to read the menu) and VERY loud, our waitress had difficulty in making herself heard and confessed it was a common problem. Also as it was our first visit it was difficult to gauge the number of dishes to order. Even so it was a great experience and we will be back.
Food tasted very nice, but was a bit cold and felt like it had been cooked a while ago. The caramelised pork had a thick lump of caramel on top) which really stuck to out teeth, which suggests been left under a heat lamp or reheated. Value wise, the amount you pay for the amount of food is not great value. The wine was amazing and the staff very nice. Coffee was burnt and had to send back, didn't get a course we ordered. Nothing given off bill or a token gesture. For this type of restaurant you would have expected something. Overall ambiance was good.
I dined at Fade Street Social on a Friday night at 8pm with my girlfriend. We were given a great seaat location at the counter in the gastropub, as per my request, with a great view of the chefs doing their thing. The food was absolutely amazing, from presentation, to timing, to portion size. One thing that really stood out compared to other tapas dining venues was the staggered service of the tapas, which was great. It meant that we were eating everything hot, and it was almost exciting every time a new dish arrived. Will definitely be back, and I have recommended it to a lot of people already. Good job!
A very lively restaurant that usually has good atmosphere. Very busy with staff keeping busy serving the tables many small courses. Food quality and presentation is great. Seating is on benches and comfy stools. Worth a visit. Very nice rooftop bar. Professional staff.
During a week long stay in Dublin, we dined at Fade Street Social Gastro Pub twice, it's that good. The tapas format works well with all age groups - we were a party of uni students and parents. The quality of the food is top notch - everything super fresh and perfectly balanced. It's *not* the greatest for vegetarians or vegans though. The second night we went it was my last night in Dublin. Last minute errands getting my son situated at Trinity, and it was late - we were able to get a table and good service at 9:30 pm on a Sunday night. No easy feat. All of our dishes were delicious, but I highly recommend the duck spring rolls, the foie gras burger, the truffle pasta and the shoftshell crab. Cocktails were wonderful and inventive. Definitely recommend.
Good food and friendly staff. Not all things 100% but still a great experience
Excellent food, cocktails and service. Cant wait to get back.
Posto bellissimo, molto alla moda. Cibo outstanding e format molto informale. Ero a Dublino per una breve vacanza e siamo stati al GastroBar in occasione de mio compleanno con alcuni amici. Mi è piaciuto moltissimo!
Really enjoyed the brunch of chicken and waffles very tasty.
Bit disappointed that all the prices on the tapas menu have gone up significantly and portions are smaller.
Staff were very friendly and service was excellent.
Had a really enjoyable evening in the tapas bar with great tapas and great service .Not for the hard of hearing as it is noisy, recommend this place for young at heart oldies and as that is what we are we will be back.
The food is nice but grossly over priced and the place is extremely noisy. Such that you have to shout at your dinner companion across a small table.
As always the staff were very professional but also very friendly and informal. We were a large family group and the menu and staff catered to all ages and tastes. The food is always good and the staff clearly explain the system and what dishes are particularly small or large. Always feel welcomed from the staff at the door to everyone in the tapas bar itself.
The menu has slightly changed not for the better , portion size very small for the price of the food. I wouldn't return which is a shame I really liked it on previous occasions.
I’m a big fan of Fade Street Social and a regular. They have recently changed the menu so we were a bit disappointed that the popcorn chicken was no longer on the menu. The food was excellent but the service was very very poor. We asked for drinks on arrival which we had to chase twice. We asked for mocktails for the kids which we also chased twice. It felt like there were not enough staff to serve us but actually there were loads of staff on. Mostly, I think we felt that the service was lacking in being attentive... we had 3 or 4 different waiters, all of whom were friendly but just not consistent and left us feeling like no one knew what was happening with our order. If someone had just been communicative about how long things were going to take, it would have made our experience a lot better. Instead we felt like we were being annoying.
Nice food, great service. The only issue was undercooked donuts for dessert , they were replaced without quibble but the replacements were just ok.
We will go back with no hesitation,
Had heard alot about Fade Street Social and always a fan of tapas as allows you to taste quite a few dishes without over eating. I have to say on the Web site I wasn't exactly sure what I was booking. It appears that there is the restaurant and then the Gastrobar which is where I dined. This is where you get the Tapas. Online there appeared to be a "Tapas menu choice" for €40/50. On arrival I was informed this was only for larger parties, doesn't mention that on the website. We ordered some wonderful tapas. Particularly impressed with the Foie Gras burger and tuna. I did notice people to my right and left ordering off a different "set" tapas menu. I enquired on the way out and was told this was a pre purchase deal a sort of voucher. It seemed great value at €60 per couple including a bottle of wine. However, I am still unsure how you access this deal??
Service and food are great here. Certainly hope to return especially if I can work out how to get the mysterious voucher deal.
I think diners like me feel a bit miffed when dining and seeing others around you getting access to specials. Maybe a bit more clarity would help.
We both enjoyed the restaurant busy time and we where wonderful advised on what to select on tapas. The portion are good for sharing and you really get a taste of different ideas how the cook all the ingredients.
We felt a bit under time pressure as when you book it is advised you have two hours seating, but finally we where longer and it helped to enjoy further a dessert and cafe. Great experience it will not be the last time we both said, we do it again and again.
Great bites. Order up a bunch and enjoy. Don’t miss the frois gras burger. Very loud and energetic but fun.
This was one of my favourite restaurants but the menu has changed and much less choice of food available. Far too expensive for tapas choice. Disappointing! Won't be back again.
Food was very tasty and ambience was great. Found servings on the small side even for tapas.
Been to Fade Street social many times. Food is outstanding cocktails are too nice. Love the buzz. Location is great.
Great place to enjoy nice food and a great buzz. I have hearing aids and when we arrived mentioned to the manageress who showed me some table options without hesitation that would be more suitable. Thanks for making our evening a special occasion, and the steak was cooked to perfection.

Didn’t enjoy our food
Had dinner the other night and the food was excellent. We had a mixture of appetizers, salads, entrees, prim fixe and dessert. All our dishes were very good and we would go back.
Love this place for a special occasion. Great options and selection of tapas! Could order everything on the menu.
We also had our pre wedding reception drinks and nibbles here so it’s very special to us!
Also order the donuts and mousse for dessert!
nice atmosphere, but the food and wine are way overpriced for what you get. you are paying for the location and the name rather than the food. service was good and friendly but they did forget one of our dishes and then charged us twice on the bill for same. This was rectified once we complained. nice place but wouldn't go again as it is not good value for money.
While the food was good, I was a bit disappointed that they all of a sudden needed our table for other guests. I certainly understand that one cannot stay at a table forever, but we were 8 people, ordering a lot of food and had been there for about 1.5 hrs, so nothing too long in my opinion. We also had not received notice, which felt a bit sudden and not very service oriented. Beyond that we had a lovely evening.
One of our dishes came out 20 minutes late and we were not informed that there would be a delay so the rest of our dishes went cold waiting. However, 50% was kindly taken off the bill which was appreciated.
