Founded in 1996 the ideas for the Marblehead Chowder House were actually hatched a few years before. Sitting at "The Barnacle," overlooking Marblehead Harbor one raw winter day, while the spume from the rough saltwater painted the windows and the Sam Adams Lager flowed freely, a concept was born. Casual, coastal and cozy - fresh seafood, fin fish, shellfish and hearty chowders in a warm, relaxing atmosphere that says "seaside" - a place that had tradition, patriotism, and a New England heritage about it. Fresh ingredients, house-made soups and chowders, comfort food with a twist freshly prepared to order were all musts!     We were there for the breakfast menu, which did not disappoint! Everything was cooked perfectly, and presented beautifully. Our servers were great; helpful and accommodating. We're looking forward to coming back soon!

    The place is beautiful!! We walk through the resturant, the energy is alive but also peaceful and elegant. We chose outdoor seating they have a nice fountain with an open landscape. The service was amazing! Our server Blake was very friendly, helpful, and prompt. At the same time is was nice that he gave us our space to converse amongst ourselves during our meal. The food was excellent. So delicious and we didn’t leave hungry once so ever. We had to our compliments to Chef Rob for an amazing experience. I tried his Gelato for dessert and he had a story behind it and everything! So cool! Overall 10/10. Definitely would suggest it to anyone looking for a relaxing night out somewhere with a good atmosphere and even better food. Thanks Grey Stone!

    We came to have dinner and see our friend Jerry Monk perform, we were seated on the porch (next to Jerry) of this lovely old house. The mahi mahi special and the Brussels sprouts were excellent. Our Manhatten drinks were very good. Service was friendly and efficient. We are looking forward to our next time here.
