Best Family Style Restaurants in White Plains

This casual restaurant has been a local jewel for many years. The ambiance is warm and friendly with regulars enjoying excellent and creative cooking and wonderfully curated wine list with reasonable prices and generous helpings. The owner and executive chef Dave Dubarry is a Dobbs Ferry icon. If you haven’t tried Dave’s pork ossobuco, or pasta with ragu you are missing a truly stunning gastronomical experience. We drove up from Manhattan (45 minutes) for an early dinner and were blown away by the food. The 4 course special fixed dinner was $40 pp with an amazing $40 bottle of Syrah from Cortona Italy. I don’t want to create an unreasonable expectation, but, if you have the opportunity to eat here, just don’t miss it.

Amazing experience at Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar in White Plains! The service was exceptional, and everyone was so attentive and welcoming. The Kashk Bademjan was my favorite appetizer, and the lamb chops with baghali rice were phenomenal! The owner even stopped by to check on us, which made the experience even more special. Definitely a 10/10!

We had brunch. I modified my order of eggs benedict, however it arrived as described in the menu. They made up for it by making a second delivery of the eggs the way I ordered it. The wait staff was apologetic and seemed to really care that we were happy. As for the space, the dining room is contemporary in design and 2 stories tall. The tables are nicely set apart. It feels very relaxed overall. The menu has a distinct asian influence. There was a pianist providing renditions of show tunes, which made for a nice ambiance.

My friends and I had a lovely lunch. We dined outside sharing a beet salad, a pizza and vodka penne. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant
