Annie our server was excellent. She recommended the happy hour special of a house margarita with lamb taco. It was great. The sliders were outstanding too.

Barolo Grill has been a family favorite since moving here in 1994. Over the years, the food has remained consistently, stunningly good. The wine list, as recognized by multiple national and international awards, is always stellar. The care and attention to the experience of eating incredible food in a beautiful environment has always been great. On this particular evening, the food and wine remained as good as ever. All of the starters and all of the pastas are simply exquisite. The scallops remain some of the best one could ever eat, and the duck sets a standard that almost no restaurant can reach. For whatever reason though, the service on this particular night was lacking in ways that we have never experienced before at Barolo: slow to come to the table, slow to bring basics like water and bread, ghosting by the sommelier after the wine was delivered and decanted - no asks about a second bottle or other beverages, an attempt to order a cocktail that never appeared, no asks from the waitstaff for anything else that we might want or even an offer of coffee or tea to go with dessert (that had already been ordered as part of a 4-course selection). We are easy customers: we don't send back food, we don't demand a lot -- we only want to enjoy a lovely meal and evening, yet even though we were sitting in the middle of the main room, we felt as if we were a burden to the staff to simply let us order and have a nice meal, like perhaps we were preventing them from being elsewhere or with other customers. This did not seem to be due to lack of staff, but rather that they did not care to do much to pay the usual great care and attention. This was truly unusual and not up to the norms of the Barolo Grill team in over at least 100 visits for us. I hope this was just an "off" night for whatever reason, and that when we try again, it is back to a warm and friendly experience to match the glory of the food and wine that it has been in the past.

Our “Power Lunch” feature was delicious. We both had the tomato soup, I had the salmon and my wife had the fish and chips, and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. The tea ice cubes were a nice touch.
