Best Restaurants for Anniversaries in Solana Beach

Telefèric Barcelona (Westfield UTC, La Jolla) Solid Spanish tapas experience at the new Telefèric Barcelona location in UTC. The food was good overall and the room is inviting. Standouts for us were the tuna tacos, Wagyu empanadas, albóndigas (meatballs), and papas bravas — all enjoyable and well-executed. We also ordered the mixed paella, which was good but not great. I missed the crispy bits of rice on the bottom of the pan (the socarrat), which I’ve grown to expect when ordering paella. Service was a mix of casual and attentive in a way that worked for the setting. The ambiance is very nice, with a polished coastal-Spanish feel. Noise levels were acceptable (better than some neighboring spots), and the ambient music stayed in the background without overwhelming conversation. Value lands about where you’d expect for the price point and location. Overall a good experience — we’d go back.

I took my daughter to Nicks and we both love the food, ambiance and the meatloaf. OMG, absolutely delicious. Our server was Fran, a true professional. Knew when to come in and when to give us space. Excellent service, friendly, kind and genuine. Keep up the good work.

Eddie V’s made my wife’s birthday celebration absolutely amazing! We were seated by the window overlooking the ocean, and my wife was so surprised by all the thoughtful details, from the birthday card to the star confetti on our table. Our waiter was fantastic, and they started our evening with Prosecco so we could toast to her birthday, which was such a nice touch! The chef even personally brought out a starter dish that was delicious. We ordered the Soirée three-course dinner with Caesar salads, New York strip steaks, and Bananas Foster for dessert. We also ordered cappuccinos to enjoy with dessert, which were the perfect pairing. Everything from the food to the service and attention to detail was top-notch. What I appreciated most was how special they made my wife feel throughout the evening. It was such a wonderful experience, and I can’t wait to come back to Eddie V’s to celebrate more special moments together!
