Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Chandler's Cross

We visited The Ivy in St Albans on Saturday night for the first time together, after my partner recommended it, and it certainly did not disappoint! We shared two starters, and both were absolutely gorgeous. I then had the fish cakes for my main, which I thoroughly enjoyed. We were both feeling full by dessert, but after spotting someone else’s and deciding it looked too tempting, we shared one, and we were so glad we did! The staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful and really knowledgeable when it came to recommending wines. Our waitress mentioned she had only been there a week, but you would never have known from how knowledgeable and attentive she was. The whole experience was fantastic. The food, service and atmosphere were all lovely, and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill. I expected it to be considerably more, so it was definitely great value for money. Even though we were almost the last people there before closing, we never felt rushed or pressured to leave. That really made the evening feel relaxed and special. We had such a lovely time and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

Another delightful evening at Lussmans . The staff and food were excellent. Great atmosphere. We were entertained by the pianist/singer Kate which was an added bonus to the evening as we were not expecting being entertained with live music, absolutely great. Will be back again soon. Such a wonderful restaurant to have in our local area. Amazing food.

The food was very good, the service equally so, the environment was very comfortable and it was good value for money. A true restaurant not somewhere just to go to get something to eat. We will return

The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour! Everything was cooked perfectly, and the presentation was lovely. Great quality and excellent service. Definitely recommend and will be back again and again !
