Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Elizabeth Bay

Ethan, Sophie and Digo at the front of house are amazing at what they do. Passionate, friendly and knowledgeable; they have made every visit fantastic. The food is great, the wine list is small but well thought out and the cocktails are well made and tasty!

The Umami is a favourite of ours. The staff are so attentive and friendly and the food is always fresh. The selection of dishes has reduced from its Busharri days which we miss but the quality remains. The school prawns were a little too large for our liking so please get them back to their original size! Overall a quality restaurant.

Can’t recommend this place enough, after being told by an Italian restaurant close by that we had to pay a deposit of $500 for a group booking I looked elsewhere and found roast republic. No deposit required for groups. The food was incredible and was so quick. Great value for money. They were so accommodating and super friendly, they even split the bill which I know a lot of places won’t with large groups. Atmosphere was beautiful. We will be returning :) Thank you for a great experience.

Food was creative and delicious 😋 It's not cheap but the preparation and presentation was worth the extra money.

An excellent selection of what you could expect in a family run restaurant in parts of Europe. Large serve sizes provide excellent value. Not a place for date night, more for wholesome food over a couple of drinks with family of friends. Well loved over the decades by locals and visitors.
