Absolutely stunning and styled almost to perfection. Had I not been seated directly facing the neighbouring table, it would have been perfect. Take time to look at all the details – it’s a beautiful, atmospheric setting. Food. We knew it was more expensive than we’d normally pay and were happy to pay a premium for a special treat. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting or the price. I ordered the ham and mushroom omelette with sourdough toast. The single slice of toast was burnt around the edges and there was no garnish or accompaniment. For £15, I expected a more substantial and generously filled dish. My brother ordered the vegetarian full English breakfast, which he found rather bland, and the presentation of both dishes felt quite basic. Drinks. We had a latte and a green juice. The waitress wasn’t certain what was in the juice and could only suggest a few possibilities. Both drinks were enjoyable, although a little small for the price. Staff. Extremely polite, professional and attentive throughout, although we felt slightly hurried at times. Overall. The venue itself is exceptional and the location couldn’t be more convenient. Unfortunately, while the service was very good, the food and value didn’t quite match the high standards set by the surroundings. Our bill came to just over £60 and we left feeling the experience was more memorable for the venue than for the breakfast.More infoBooking Office 1869££££• Modern European• King's Cross•4.5
- GGillLondon •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoVery short menu of very delicious dishes. The chef offered to little dish of baked cheese, to make up for my disappointment at absence of baked whole Camambert. I had chicken liver instead; it was the best I've ever had. Fantastic waiters, really helpful advice about dishes. Choose weekday early evening for best time. Irritating booking through open tableMore infoPatron French Firehouse££££• French• Kentish Town•4.6
