Best Historic Restaurants in McPherson Square

A must visit when in DC. The staff upon entering sets the tone for a special dining experience. Surrounded by history and art our server, Jenny was yet another gift given by Old Ebbitt Grill. Her warmth, skill and attentiveness are top tier. We enjoyed a little bit of everything and highly recommend: oysters, crab cake, fried oyster deviled eggs, burnt broccoli, zucchini. I was blown away by the superb service. The waitress was engaging, made solid suggestions- hush puppies, avocado toast, chicken sandwich, pear crumble. The food was yummy. Quaint and comfortable restaurant. Conveniently located. A great place to stop for lunch!

Great service, yummy food, cool cocktails! I had put in a request to get the check by a certain time and they were very accommodating. Very friendly and attentive server. Thank you!

Food was absolutely amazing, especially the doro wat, which was just as delicious as was promised. Appetizers were a little bland, but we present as pale white people, so maybe they thought we could not handle the heat. Similar for the drinks. Service was good. Noise levels were perfect.
