I am sorry to say that this visit to Formaggio's was poor. If this was my only visit, I would never return. It was Monday night and the "special" menu for that night was lacking...very lacking. It had very limited offerings compared to what we have been offered on previous visit. We both settled on the only entree close to what we expected: a ribeye steak and bacon wrapped shrimp. The shrimp was delicious: up check. The steak on the other had was ripe with inedible gristle but was priced very high. There were only four choices for wine. Lesson learned: no more Formaggio's on Mondays.

Happy hour drinks were great — double bourbon pours filled the glass to the rim! Appetizers were fantastic, the bistecca is a must-have. And the pono pork pasta — OMG, we had porkasms! Nice sports-bar atmosphere but kinda loud.

Extremely noisy restaurant. The prices are expensive similar to a fine dining restaurant but the atmosphere is like a sports bar with TVs everywhere. Too dark. Needs some renovation.

Excellent service from the get go. Formaggio Grill-Kailua has been our go-to restaurant since its opening. We enjoy the food, the service and the ambiance, all in Kailua.

Exceptional service. Leisurely, long lunch. Delicious despite too much pepper on ahi burger and vinegar on salad. Coming back soon.

The music was so loud we had to yell to place our order and to speak with one another. I ordered the chicken marsala, and I don’t believe there was any marsala wine in the dry dish. The filet mignon look like it had been butterfly and quartered it was ridiculously small however, it was very tasty. All in all I would take a pass.

Valentine's Day Dinner was all inclusive with a starter, entree and single dessert item. The dessert item was Chocolate Decadence "because it wouldn't be Valentines without chocolate" according to the menu. However, the Chocolate Decadence wasn't available, so inclusive dinner was only the starter and entree for the same price. We had steak for entrees, and they were a little undercooked but good. Calamari fritti was ok and the house salad was excellent, The live music made was the highlight of the dinner.
