Fortnum & Mason Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon
Mummy and daughter treat which was absolutely amazing. I had the vegetarian tea and my daughter had the Children’s tea. Both were plentiful and refills always offered. The most special part of the tea was the impeccable service from our lovely waiter Jose! Really something special
The Afternoon tea is really a hit and miss for me, while the sandwiches are delicious the cakes and scones are quite disappointing. This is my second visit so I was hoping for an improvement on the scones which were unfortunately another disappointment. They were extremely dry with hardly any flavour. You have to smother them with jam and cream to make them edible. On the plus side the staff are friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble, you do feel very looked after! The atmosphere and surroundings are also very elegant and relaxing.
The food was great and the tea was excellent. The service was a little pressing in my opinion but nothing too bad in the end, very nice and polite waiter. Also, it wasn't really clear if the food they offer to take home or have more is in supplement or not. But we had a great time, I would recommend it and come back again
Tea time exceptionnel. Thes rares. Tout est à volonté
Nous avons ete tres surpris car ns etions 7 et avons demandé 3 scones suppl et tout a ete reservi. Vraiment ne pas prevoir de diner apres.
The waiter over heard me talk about my birthday and came out with some birthday cake and made a big fuss. She was so lovely with my girls. Service was amazing.
Food was lovely with a lovely view of London. I would definitely love to visit again.
A lovely experience, great food and service. The kids offer was great
Wonderful environment and service.
Scheduling a table super easy...straight out from my phone.
Our Waitress Marianna was awesome....guided us through our first experience in London with tea and savories / sweets....
The overall experience was wonderful. The scones add to the experience beyond anything else. My choice of tea was rather bitter, which contrasted my order of a sweat tea, however the fault is mine for having a sibling of English breakfast tea, which, by it’s very nature is bitter.
I really liked the experience, food was super tasty, service is impeccable, i liked the interior
Absolutely fabulous, the staff were fantastic, the place is elegant and the food exceedingly good. Would recommend everyone should experience the afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason
We reserved months ahead and had a tight timeline. They didn’t seat us until 15 min after our reservation. Then we had to ask for our check 3 times before they brought it. We ended up 30 min late to our next engagement.
The restaurant has a great vibe with people and music but nothing so overpowering you can't hear yourself speak. I was delighted when the waitress overheard me saying to my son Happy Birthday and she then re-appeared with a cake and candle such a nice touch. Food options were varied and almost spoilt for choice, would recommend.
The food and ambience were wonderful, but the service was disappointing. Our waiter wasn't very attentive. The tea was served without milk, we had to ask for it. We got the bill 20 mins after we asked for it and after a reminder.
I expected better service for such price.
The ambience is the best thing about tea here plus nice service.
The scones were for me stale and very disappointing, the sandwiches were average, cakes were good but all similiar.
Expensive considering all the above.
Very enjoyable afternoon tea in wonderful surroundings. Sandwiches were excellent with some very special bread. Scones were beautiful and crumbly with lovely jam and clotted cream. Patisseries were very diverse and enjoyable. Cake to take away was very good quality
This was not my first time. I came on Thursday and also returned on Friday. I cancelled my tea at the Savoy as I am most comfortable at Fortnum and Mason. The service and ambience are superb.
I found it a little canteen style. We had to wait 15mins to be taken to our seats after our pre booked time. Not much character to the dining Area.
This was a belated 18th birthday treat for granddaughter - which was a question asked on the online booking form. It started well but by 4pm the place was packed and our poor waiter was struggling with at least five small tables and one very large table. An ordered cocktail didn't appear but was on the bill which I challenged. The cakes and scones to take home were not complete because we did not check the beautifully packed boxes before we left.
The space is vast and there were not enough staff to manage an almost full tea room - must be more than 100 covers. Will be writing to complain. Definitely not an option I would recommend again unless you head there just after lunch!
Birthday celebration! Wonderful tea with great atmosphere!
Every single dish we tried was delicious! I will definitely be going there again!
The service is extremely good; The food is very delicious.
The sandwiches and scones were excellent and cakes interesting and varied. Tea came in individual pots with a good choice. There didn't appear to be enough staff on duty and it was hard to get their attention. The seats are low and when I requested an alternative it took a while to come. Also when we wanted more tea and milk we had to ask several times before it came. It was busy and quite noisy but lovely room and the special ambience you would expect. It was just disappointing to have to wait to have a cup of tea with my scone.
Wonderful! Highly recommend! Great service and delicious high tea!
Outstanding service once again from F&M. Colin, our waiter was very friendly and we were even visited by the head waiter, Michael, who made us feel very special. Our slight adjustments to some of our order were all accepted without question. Nothing was to much trouble and it was another fabulous experience. Thank you.
This place was recommended to us by a couple we met from London as the go-to place for high tea. Although it was pricey, £120 in total, the ambience was amazing. We ended up ordering the wrong selection but as we were leaving the server packed up boxes of treats for us to take away. The service was sporadic and there was a language barrier that complicated the experience. I would recommend this place if price is doable and you ask alot of questions before ordering.
The service was attentive at first but near the end of my afternoon tea my waiter disappeared when he said he was going to come back to take me to the cake trolley. I must have waited 20 min for him and then another 20 min for another server to help me with packing my leftovers. I don’t think they deserved a 12.5% tip but being how it’s the UK and the put gratuities on the bill I felt very awkward to ask them to remove it. Anyways it’s good that you get refills but is it worth it for 55£? Very debatable. The pots and cutlery also have seen better days.
Very disappointed with the service, felt very neglected. Staff were very inattentive and basically absent from the restaurant. We were expecting a much better experience. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
Steinway piano and great service made it a great place to dine in. The high tea was amazing and when we left the waiters offered to let us take food home. It was a wonderful full traditional high tea experience.
Was quite dissapointed with our traditional afternoon tea, some sandwiches and the scones were nice but other cakes disappointing. Service was terrible, the two managers had to step in,mead to ask multiple times for me more and sandwiches and also the bill! Waitress didn't listen to us, told her twice we had just got new tea and that we didn't want more and then she brought us more. I don't think it was worth the price and had better for half the price.
A visit to Fortnum and Mason is always a highlight of our trips to London!
Perhaps We misunderstood the info on the website, but coming in we realized that the cost is 55£ per person, with quite a lot of food, and when we requested to share the tray we were told that it’s not allowed. We left the restaurant. We were told that there’s a parlour downstairs, but it was closed. Also, why enable online reservation when It’s afterwards demanded to call and confirm, which in our case was an overseas call? Disappointed.
Una experiencia muy especial. Vale la pena . La calidad del servicio excelente. Irene y Peter espectaculares👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Irene our server was to soft spoken to be heard, her accent didn't help us understand either. She'd make multiple pases past our table and never refill my empty water glass unless I asked. After we got our menus, she disappeared for so long I ended up going to host desk to inquire, a woman not a server passed our table and said she'd have someone come by and no one did. Hard to decide on something If you can't hear your server speak in a whisper. That should not have happened for 55pp
The teas we're good the sandwich good excellent chocolate cake.
Good value... well it was the experience. I'll keep telling myself that
Lovely way to spend the afternoon - especially when parents visiting from out of town!
My mom and I had Afternoon Tea at Fortnum and Mason and it was exquisite. They offered a gluten free option for my mom which made the whole experience even possible. The food was delicious, the atmosphere wonderful, the service impeccable and the room was lovely. A perfect afternoon. Thank you!
Very slow service - 20 minutes wait for a table booked ahead of time
For a special treat it's fantastic. Afternoon tea was very good.
Two of us went for tea as a treat for my birthday. Great food, they said we could ask for more but waitress looked surprised when we asked for a few more sandwiches and then didn't bring them until we reminded her again. No other scones or cakes were offered either, and only one refill of tea was offered. No mention of the cake trolley, which is apparently an option too, we now find out after the event. For the price I would have expected several offers of free-flowing food! (not that we wanted loads, but value for money etc)
The slight bugbear at the end was when they put on a DISCRETIONARY 12.5% tip on the bill, amounting to £17 - now I used to work as a waitress and know how important these tips are, BUT honestly all they did was put a pot of tea and a stand of sandwiches / cakes down, and left us (other than being asked twice for more sandwiches, we were no bother to them). So my friend and I decided on paying a reduced tip on top of the bill (£10 - still a very decent, generous amount). We told the waitress clearly the total amount that we would each like to pay (we split the bill) but when she went away, my friend realised that her card had been charged much more than we had stated - so the waitress had taken the full amount of the tip regardless of our instructions. Honestly thought this was really cheeky as the word "discretionary" had been used, which surely means it's up to us what we pay for a tip, right? And then we couldn't find the waitress and really didn't want to make a scene / question things further - in a beautiful serene place like that, it's quite awkward and felt a bit petty. But it did take the shine off of what was otherwise a very pleasant and enjoyable afternoon.
A fabulous afternoon tea but sadly overshadowed by overly loud and naff piped music.
