We chose a large, distinctive building right on the corner of the high street and Station Lane for our ASK restaurant in Hornchurch. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you see the lovely open plan kitchen, and our highly trained chefs cooking up dishes with real Italian flair and flavour. It’s a varied menu, including everything from breads and antipasto through classic and contemporary dishes, to the always delicious gelati.
Pop in for coffee, lunch or a light bite in between perusing Hornchurch's interesting array of independent shops, or book a table for an evening meal before heading on to the local pubs or the Queen’s Theatre for a live show. And if the weather’s fine, why not dine al fresco in our spacious garden? It only adds to that real Italian feel.More

Gul and Sepoy serves food inspired by the Royal courts of north India, paired with the more relaxed, rural cooking of fishing villages located along the south west coastline.
Sitting over two floors, downstairs guests are greeted by a large oak panelled bar and a relaxed dining area, whilst upstairs, marble feasting tables provide a touch of luxury and a nod to north India's ancient Royal palaces.
Welcome to Gul & Sepoy. We look forward to serving you soon.
Our history is first recorded in the 1841 census as a “beer shop” owned by a Mr Edward Mansell. This is the pub’s first paper record although we are aware it is highly likely this now historic ‘Off Licence’ was selling alcohol before this date. Customers are welcomed to read in more detail our history from records taken from the Essex Records Office some of which are framed on our walls. Read about the true crimes that have been committed over the years! The pub is owned and managed by two local families, The Randall’s and The Zacharia’s. Scott (Randall) saw great potential in a deteriorating, badly run pub whilst Andrew (Zacharia) saw the opportunity for a restaurant, his father having owned the well-known Venus Steak House in Bethnal Green. The rest, as they say, is history.More
