We loved the food and beer selection at City Tap. The services was very good. Had a great table in smaller room next to main dining area. It was 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon in winter and they were packed. Luckily I had made a reservation for 1 pm and they were able to seat us right away however people who did not have a reservation were given a wait time of 1+ hours More

Imaginative menu, rather rich food -- too good!! Fine service. And each time we go, we find parking fairly easily. Plus -- very close to Central Square Theatre, so if you're going to a show there, Viale is a great place for dinner beforehand. More

1855 La voile wine bar1855 La voile wine bar
French | Back Bay, Boston

1855 – the year of the first official classification of Bordeaux wines following the World’s Fair in Paris.  Bordeaux is, of course, known as being one of the most prestigious wine regions of the world and a good glass of Bordeaux is a rite of passage for learning to love a good bottle of wine. This was the inspiration for our bar à vin (wine bar) – to inspire a love of wine.
1855’s wine list is comprised of more than 250 different varieties of French wine, not only from Bordeaux, but from all across France. Above and beyond including well-known classics on the list at 1855, we wanted to highlight some of the little known gems that can be discovered from boutique, small batch vineyards.

The 1855 Bar à Vin also features traditional French cuisine, served primarily in the form of delicious small plates, thus presented in a more casual and shareable way than at a traditional restaurant. However, we also offer full course menus for those who want to stay for dinner. More
