Diners' Choice Winners: Best Overall
Maine's best restaurants based upon thousands of OpenTable diner reviews
Novio’s is a nice addition to the Bangor dining scene. I loved the decor and the seating arrangements make for many nice cozy places to dine with your date/guest(s). Clearly they’ve put a lot of thoughtful emphasis on their bar program. Not your run of the mill offering. True farm to table theme from drinks to food menu. Menu is small but focused. Entrees were executed perfectly. We had the tenderloin and blue fin tuna; both were delicious and cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back on my next trip back to Bangor. MoreOpenTable Diner -
We chose Ocean for our 20th anniversary and are so glad we did. The atmosphere and food was beyond expectations. What really made it so much better was our waitress, Ally she was so kind, professional and a joy. We will be back for another special occasion in the future. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Pizza is simple food. But it doesn’t have to be ordinary.
Since 2009 when we opened our first slice shop on Congress Street in downtown Portland, we’ve been striving to elevate the pizza experience. It starts with the ingredients – high quality, local when possible – and the toppings – creative and comforting. Mashed potatoes? Tortellini? Cranberries on a pizza? These are just a few of the things we tried – and they worked. “The Masher” with mashed potato, scallion, and bacon is one of our most popular pies. And people thought it was weird when we first put it on the menu.
Making simple food isn’t easy. We are continuously working to make sure every pizza is perfect and every slice unforgettable. Whether it be from one of our slice counters, or in one of our full service dining rooms, every member of our team is motivated by this goal of consistently well-executed, uncomplicated food. More
Hello from T H E H I C H B O R N
We are a cozy modern American restaurant cooking through the seasons with fresh ingredients provided by regional farms, fishers and foragers. The menu is intentionally small and changes often. We feature local meats, fresh seafood, produce and desserts. We always have gluten free and vegan options, the kitchen however is not a gluten free environment. Everything is made fresh, in house. The menu is updated weekly on our website. We have a selection of local craft beers and an ever evolving wine list. Cocktails coming soon!
The restaurant is located at the historic N. G. Hichborn house in Stockton Springs, Maine. The atmosphere is casual elegance with a comfortable, modern vibe. The dining room features artwork by local artists and reclaimed wood tables.

If you are going to visit Portland, Maine, make sure to plan your day around your meals so you can experience as many Down East restaurants as possible. In addition to the classic New England clam chowder, Portland is renowned for its fresh oyster bars. Competing with seafood fresh off the fishing boats, some of the best steakhouses in New England can be found in Portland. For the more adventurous diner, the international selections include French, Italian, Thai, Mexican, and Middle Eastern cuisine. For a more casual dining experience, you can indulge in comfort foods like macaroni and cheese or Belgian fries fried in duck fat and made with local potatoes. Complete your meal with the perfect cocktail and a view of the water, and you'll be wondering how soon you can eat again.
