I asked for a quiet table when making my reservation through Open Table, and I am happy to say that Cipriani had a table for us in the back! It was pretty quiet! Our food was excellent, service providers were perfect, and we had a wonderful visit over lunch.
Was looking forward to it because I have been to the original in Venice a few times, also have been to the other Harry's Bar/restaurants around the country. I was immediately disappointed by the Maitre d' who looked at our party as if we didn't belong, we weren't underdress but a little casual because we had been on the town the whole day and didn't have a chance to "dress up. The ambience is nice and very New York, the people watching is good etc. Food is overpriced but you should know that going in. Order the favorites and trust the locals. We had a great time because we met some people at the next table who were from the same area as we were. Just act like you owe the place.
Always delightful. Service is like watching a ballet. Highly recommend.
Extremely overpriced considering what they’ve offered. The food tasted as if it came from a package. The service was very poor. Tried many times because of it’s reputation, but not going back any time soon...
Amazing food. Worth the hype.
The food quality is very poor. It is beyond me why anybody would go there to eat other than to be seen.
Lovely in every way, very welcoming, good service, good cocktails, good food
Had a reservation for nice table, but always love sitting at
the bar when Salvatore is there. He’s the best!
Great Bellinis and the food was wonderful. Gnocchi was outstanding!
Outstanding customer service. Food was really good.
A classic and all time favorite that never gets old.
An overrated cafeteria with the modest decor and the servers there have been there forever and get very lazy in their service. You are constantly looking for them. Ridiculously overpriced. I would rather spend a bit more and go back to Daniel.
Still one of my all time favorite NY spots; after all these years from 6th Avenue to Grand Central to Sherry Netherland. Prices are absurdly high; but it is the quintessential NY experience
It s for everything . Anytime you want to have a good time , business or not , date or not .
I ll go with my family , friends ,just one kid
They are always so kind and welcoming
Classic and elegant , for the last 30 years I go there .
Very bad service
Usually amazing!!! They were off that night
The food is ok but it is a scene so I guess you don’t come for the food!
Too many servers taking duplicate orders. Food was fine but not great.
Always a must when we are in NYC!
Everything was perfect, we arrived early and staff was so friendly and promptly seated us without any problem. Would recommend saving room for dessert, the lemon meringue pie and the Napoleon were exceptional.
Food good but this time served too fast. One of our favorite places since 1970’s
Worst food we have ever had! My son had slimy pasta and I had salty pasta! Terrible service! I would say it’s the worst experience ever! Don’t waste your time!
I don’t understand why this place was so expensive for nothing l. I got the gluten free penne pasta with tomato sauce. I probably tasted better pasta sauce from a can... not exaggerating. I was so bloated after my meal .... there must have been gluten in my gluten free dish. The water was 12 dollars, a mini Diet Coke was 8 dollars... overall payed 60 dollars, just for a plate of red- sauce penne pasta. I don’t mind paying 300 dollars for a nice meal, I just genuinely don’t understand why it was expensive fir below average food.
We were in NY celebrating a dear friend’s birthday. Lunch at Cipriani’s was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was attentive and fun. We enjoyed meeting some of the “regulars” who obviously frequent their favorite lunch spot quite often.
We’ve arrived the restaurant on time as per our reservation and we’ve waiting for 30 mins to get our table
We ate breakfast at Harry Cipriani on a Monday morning following an ambitious weekend at the NYC marathon. After a pleasant stroll in the park, we enjoyed the most delicious coffee, sumptuous pastry basket, and savory omelets. The wait service was outstanding, attentive and relaxed. Lovely!
Service was the worst. We were not greeted. We had to find someone. We had reservations. They didn’t seem to have a table for us. Sat there with drinks we had brought from the bar. No menu was given. We got the ones from the table next to us. The table next to us had all their dishes brought out together. No clearing of each course. Just piled it up. Bread for our table came after our appetizer. We sat there for some time until I reminded someone about our entrees. We interacted with a different person all night. Not one person was taking care of us. Will not be back.
They aren't the best known restaurant group in NYC because they ain't got game. Awesome place, Fantastic Service and iconic food.
I usually love this restaurant but I was totally shocked when visiting last week how bad the service and food was. The appetizer tuna tartare had no flavor. The veal was a hefty portion but again flavorless and the risotto it came with slopped on a plate tasteless too and they charged $70 for that one dish. I. Addition, although our waiter was kind, the server bringing out the food was flat out rude and Kyle the take a photo of us. Another table complained about him too. At the end of the day we went there and spent over $400 to celebrate my birthday and it was a HUGE disappointment.
Se sienten paridos por dios
Everyone couldn’t be nicer !
It was my birthday which I noted when I made the reservation. No acknowledgement of that. Three places were set but one person was in the men’s room when rolls were delivered. No roll was placed at the setting and had to be requested. Butter had to be request not once, not twice but 3 times. Then we went into the twilight zone. Service was slow, everything had to be requested while the famous regular at the 5 top next to us was fawned over and offered specials that we never heard about.
The food was good but the pumpkin ravioli was advertised with brown butter and sage (which is what makes it such a phenomenal fall meal). The butter wasn’t browned and there were 3 shards of sage. Great job on the puttanesca - one of the best I’ve had.
I was so looking forward to this birthday lunch but it was very disappointing and really overpriced for the service.
Always superb. Venice in NYC. Chic clientele, cozy, excellent food, outstanding service. Worth every penny.
Always top notch. Venice on Fifth Avenue. Bustling with energy, good vibes, sparkling clientele. Wonderful food. Terrific service, choreographed like a ballet. Waiters are charming and a joy to watch in action. When you are done, exit through the Sherry Netherland Hotel lobby to experience one on the most beautiful spaces in NYC. The ceilings are divine, on a par with those of the University Club library at 54th and 5th. My favorite nyc restaurant. Always do dinner and lunch there the following day.
All I can say is that it’s an experience all the way around. I will always love Harry Cipriani!
This is the best and most fun restaurant in New York . Sergio is the most welcoming and caring greeter in the world. The place is fun and crowded . The food is superb and very high quality authentic . You can not top this restaurant anywhere in Italy etc
This was my second visit, and although this visit too was good, the first one will always be one of my best restaurant experiences of all time, and I will never forget it. Not so much because of the food, but the vibe and the patrons that dined there that evening was over the top entertaining.
When I visit NY I make sure I stop by for lunch. I never have a bad mean and the service is always amazing. The staff from the moment you walk in all have a small on their face and make you feel like family.
Fabulous people watching too!
