We made an online reservation for 7 pm dining outside. Unfortunately when we arrived at 6:50 pm no outside table was available. We had to wait 35 minutes until a table became available. During that time there was no place to sit, no one offered a cocktail or even told us where to wait. This was unfortunate not only for us, but also the wait staff as they had to weave their way through the patrons waiting to be seated.

Once seated, the wait staff worked quickly and our dinners were served promptly. We had two fish dishes, a vegetarian and a beef dinner. All were quite good.

I UNDERSTAND because of Covid we didnt have full menus And I Could have asked for menu showig prices back but some glasses (ONE pino grigo for 20+ $ especially) of wine were overpriced.

We have been dining at Js for years. It seems to have declined in quality as well as service
This decline was noticeable prior to the covid restrictions. Our recent experience simply reinforced our beliefs concerning this decline.

I had noted when making the reservation that this was for our anniversary, and that was not acknowledged whatsoever. We chose to eat outside, which is a temporary tent in the parking lot with folding tables and chairs (completely understandable), but they don’t even have centerpieces on the tables. And the two of us were seated at a table with six chairs for our “romantic” anniversary dinner. The wait staff was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and had very well thought out suggestions (ie what sides go best with our entrees), my issues were more with management and the Maitre D’. Our steaks were fantastic as well.

Gilbert's has responded to the covid-19 pandemic for the safety of its customers while maintaining the same high level of food, drinks, and service. So, while the room is a bit emptier, our experience there was still as wonderful as ever.

It’s great to have a comfortable outdoor venue that serves good food. We had crab cakes, excellent, salmon, excellent, ribs, average, oyster Rockefeller, smallest oysters ever so not worth the money, we eat here at least 2-3 times a month. Even do take out which is convenient. Highly recommend this restaurant

We’ve driven past this place for years and it’s always packed. We finally decided to try it! It seemed they were very short staffed. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine and received a dirty wine glass with it. It took asking 3 ppl to get us a new one. Calamari was rubbery, wedge was good, filet was over salted and the 4 asparagus spears I got were good. It’s just not worth the money. Much better places for steak. Don’t waste your time or money. Luckily I had great company and good wine, so it wasn’t a total loss.

Crab bisque was too salty. Filet was over-cooked and not flavorful. Shrimp were flavorful but tough/over-cooked. They completely forgot to bring out the dessert that we'd ordered. Server's interactions with us were very odd. Both outdoor servers seemed overwhelmed, making service slow.

Have eaten here over 10 years & first time a disappointment. Usually have steak so decided to try ribs for me and crab cakes for husband. The ribs at first bite were tasty but after a couple minutes became very rubbery. Really weird texture. Crab cakes alright, She crab soup very good. Service ok, but waiter may have had trouble understanding us thru mask. Stick to steaks!

I think it’s important to say from the start that this restaurant does not make the impression that the pictures do. I thought it would be a much nicer restaurant for a date with my wife than it was. It really just is not anything resembling fine dining. Having said that, once we get over the disappointment related to atmosphere, the food was outstanding and our server was great. I just wish that the pictures were a little more representative of the fact that this is more of a chain steakhouse than not.

The service was great and the server was truly attentive. However, we were dining in for restaurant week and they had run out of the crab as an appetizer. The manager straight out refused "we can not substitute it for anything else". Other than that, the steak was perfectly cooked and the dessert was sublime.

We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu and our food was very good. We sat outside which was enjoyable The only negative was our service was rushed. Our server did not quite have her timing down and our courses were overlapping. It was unfortunate but otherwise a good experience.

We both enjoyed our steaks. They were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The meat was so tender and we were able to cut it with a butter knife. Crab bisque and wedge salad were great.

Worst restaurant EVER. From the moment we walked in, our entire experience was disgusting. We made our way to the bar since we had 15 mins until our reservation. The male bartender was flat out RUDE. Felt like we were profiled. I think he automatically assumed we couldn’t afford a beer. That was that. Finally a female bartender came up and she took over the entire experience. She was cool. My wife decided she wanted to eat at the table for an Intimate setting. From the minute we got sat, the waitress was completely checked out. She preferred giving service to other parties. Our food was dropped off without our appetizers. No refills. She rolled her eyes whenever we asked for simple requests (Bread, Utensils, etc) Never received refills or additional items we ordered outside of restaurant week. We dropped $100+ at this place for a crappy experience. NEVER come here. The entire staff was wack. We didn’t even see a manager to complain. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK. THE FOOD SUCKED ANYWAYS. She’s lucky we even gave her a tip.
