Service was very attentive to my fathers needs. Outdoor dining was nice. wish they can eliminate the flies. the it’s supposed to go light energy a setting for that it’s a setting to save energy this is bright you don’t like this we’re going to go to display and brightness to
The manager wouldn’t admit my drink had been prepared incorrectly. He argued with us about the drink even though he was not the one trying to drink it. He stated he knew how the drinks tasted because he has been drinking for 46 years. When he finally corrected the issue, he said it was on the house. We will not go back!
Food was very good, however it was very pricey. Restaurant didn’t have paper menus, so it made it difficult picking out dinner items off our phone. The atmosphere was very loud so it was difficult to have a conversation with each other. Server wasn’t the best. He forgot a few things I asked for. He didn’t ask how our meal tasted. He even asked me to hand him my plate when I was finished. Overall very disappointed.
We were delighted with the fantastic services overall. We want to especially thank the manager, Jose Soto, for making us feel like we were at home.
Matt was a superb waiter! Super knowledgeable, friendly and made our lunch fun. The restaurant's floor was slippery, which is a sign that it was greasy, so not well cleaned, and almost hazardous. The food was good, not as great as it looked in the pictures.
Love Kona Grill! Food , Service , and Management is top notch. The place is always clean. Great job will be back.
Outstanding food and service!
Food was awesome, Kat and Ava were welcoming hostesses and our food came out very fast. It is definitely overpriced and the sushi is outstanding.
Absolutely the worst service. Took forever to get drinks, dinner came out staggered, couple people at our table we’re done before others got their food, won’t go back. Don’t waste ur time or money.
So good! Amazing food!
The food was phenomenal. I have never had a better restaurant experience in my entire life. We were wonderfully taken care of by the servers, hosts, and manager. If you are debating whether to dine here or not, this is your sign to just book it. I guarantee you won’t regret it. Food is made from scratch and is all fresh, this will become your new favorite.
Food was incredible, experience was even better. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good bite to eat. Thank you Brynn and Alex for being wonderful hostesses and kind. We love Kona Grill Sarasota!!
Best happy hour menu ever to exist. The prices are outstanding and the food is even better. I definitely recommend the Avocado Egg Rolls & the Potstickers!! When I arrived the hostesses- Brynn & Ava were attentive and efficient in assisting us to get the table we wanted, with no wait time. Service was fast, and food was hot and fresh. Will be coming back for sure.
We love Kona and go all the time; loyal Konavores, but we were disappointed that Sunday happy hour is gone :( Also, there was a DJ (never saw one here before) and the music was so loud we literally couldn’t talk to each other. We love music, but it was ridiculously loud. We asked if they could turn it down but they said they couldn’t because it was a DJ (ummmmm ok) so we moved inside hoping it was less noisy, but it really wasn’t. We had to leave, and we ate at Rusty Bucket instead. Honestly, we could not even have a conversation in there. The DJ and policy chased away good customers.
Food was not nearly as good as it used to be. Prices went up and portion size went down. Our waiter didn’t know anything about the special I had been emailed about. He left used plates at our table after bringing new ones and had to be asked three times in a row for more water. Restaurant was not very busy but food took forever to come out. Used to be one of my favorite restaurants but we were really disappointed with this visit.
Everything was excellent! We would definitely recommend it!
1. Happy hour menu has diminished greatly from what it used to be which I don’t like.
2. Waitress didn’t even mention happy hour so if i didn’t know about it we would have forfeited it by default.
3. It seemed like our waitress was just really green/inexperienced. She was sweet but I didn’t get a refill the whole time, and my mom only got one because she asked. We still tipped her well because I have the money and support workers, but that’s literally the only reason. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else wouldn’t do the same.
4. It took sooo long to get our food. The table beside us sat and ordered a solid 10 minutes after us and got their food before us. It wasn’t that we ordered something complicated or time consuming to prepare, they literally had the same thing as us with the only difference being an order of egg rolls, which we didn’t have. My mom asked their table’s waiter to find ours when she hadn’t come back for a while and he couldn’t find her so he just checked on our order himself. I honestly think maybe he took part of our order for his table since the orders were so similar but like…where was our server to get our food if it was just sitting there?
5. This might be the biggest issue. The flies were out of control. Idk what can be done about that, but try SOMETHING. But part of it was that our waitress like never took any empty/dirty plates until I asked her to. Hello, flies are attracted to food, can you not see me waving like a mad woman out here?? Couldn’t even finish my sushi they got in it so bad. Again, it was like she just may not have had an eye for that sort of thing. I understand there’s a learning curve, but the flies really make for a sucky eating experience. Hopefully she learns that sooner than later.
Overall, it wasn’t so bad that I’ll never go back, but it’ll probably be a while. And it definitely won’t be high on the list for date night like it was pre-pandemic, or once we start going out with friends again.
Terrible. Made reservations through open table for 10:30 PM. Got a call from the restaurant at 10:20 (after already driving 25 minutes to get there) that they were not going to honor our 10:30 reservation but we could pick up the food for takeout. This restaurant should not be listing on open table platform if they are not going to honor the reservations being made through it.
The sushi was blah. No creativity, just a roll on a plate.
Our salad also was missing the pecans.
Hostess did not immediately greet us.
Food was extremely overpriced for the quality and quantity. Tables were dirty and there wasn’t a single other person in the restaurant
We were there last saturday 3rd July and it was very busy. We waited almost 45mns to get our main.
The food was good overall but nothing like exceptional.
Sticky tables, dirty large glass window panes hanging in middle of restaurant lets every diner know the place is dirty. I had a tuna sushi roll and it made me sick later. My husband ordered the chicken pad Thai and it tasted awful. Like badly seasoned to cover rancid food. Pot stickers were undercooked. I will never go back again.
It’s a great place for kids so expect it to be noisy. Food was mediocre.😔
The food was great but the service left alot to be desired. The wait staff doesn`t seemed to be trained at all. Prices are ok ,bur the amount of food isn`t enough for a man`s meal. I will go back and try it again I believe in second chances :)
We dined for my Birthday!! The server was great a d the food was delicious.
Fantastic service for 8 at a large table. Food well prepared. Waiter was attentive and a pleasure. Lovely lunch occasion.
Thank you for taking the time to give us a 5 star. Thank you and have a wonderful day. See you soon!
Great food as always
Good food. Great service!
Food was pretty good. We liked the options on the brunch menu. For 2 adults and 2 kids $100 for brunch isn’t uncommon, but we’ve definitely had better. The server was nice but not very attentive.
Great time as always. We frequent this Kona often and I must say the food this last visit was divine. It usually is, but yesterday was truly special! Thank you again and look forward to being back soon.
Mixed results on the food. we had a larger group of 8 people so it did take some time for the food and drinks to arrive. I had the Pad Thai and it was great. A couple people got the French dip and didn’t like it. Said it was dry. That can happen anywhere you go to eat. I would eat there again.
We the combination of the Oriental salad and the Chicken Pad Thai to be a sterling combination, and we each had enough left over from lunch for supper.
One Order was not correct
One was not served as described
When missin item was delivered- there was a charge for the missing item
Music was awful and way too loud
We will not go there again
Great food, great service from Zachary!
I always thought of this a s primarily a seafood restaurant but I had the best prime rib I ever had there last night. Also, our server who was definitely being over worked was very attentive and efficient.
The Kona Grill staff was very accommodating. Kyla and Ava were the sweetest hostess’ and our servers were great getting all our food out as fast as possible for our party of 16. The food was outstanding and the vibe of the restaurant was wonderful. Definitely will be coming back in the near future.
Food was good, ribs were tuff. Staff was great we will go again. Appetizers were really good, rolls were awesome. Desert was awesome!
There were a total of four people in our reservation.
Two out of four ordered salads, and one ordered sushi for our appetizers.
One salad and the sushi came out. Third one did not get hers until the first two finished theirs because the server for some reason thought she wanted hers as her entree.
Moving on to the entrees. Server comes up to one person in our group and says “your entree is done, do you want me to bring it out?” Confused, but she said yes. The next persons entree came out 15 minutes later. Two of us still do not have our entrees.
20 Minutes later the last two entrees came out. One of the prime ribs was ordered as MR and came out well done.
After ten minutes of waiting the server came back and we asked for a new prime rib. She came back and said the kitchen could not make another one. Manager came over and asked if I wanted anything else. Ended up ordering a filet, which two of our other people got. My lobster butter was completely cold and solid. The other two guests had nice buttery melted butter on their steak.
Even drinks were wrong. Ordered Budweiser, got Bud Lite.
Overall, it was a very unpleasant visit. Surprising since we have been there before and the service was not anywhere near this bad.
Great Service! Food was very good as well. Will return soon.
Loud music all around - not a chill scenario. Very limited for low carb and out of healthy options. Table needed to be wiped down after we were seated as it smelled like beer and leftover food. Waiter Zachary was great - he was in a tough position. I think there’s some ‘behind the scenes’ issues here.
