- JJohnCheshire •6 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWent for lunch with friends, service was very good, food was excellent. It was good to see the place busy, with a pre Christmas rush. This did mean it was a bit noisy, which made conversation a little difficult, but not unacceptably so. We always enjoy going to the Ring O' Bells, because it is so good and reasonably priced.More infoRing O' BellsPrice: Moderate• Gastro Pub• Chester•4.5

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, going above and beyond to ensure the evening was special. The ambience was intimate and elegant, perfect for such a special occasion. Every course of the tasting menu was a masterpiece — beautifully presented, bursting with flavour, and perfectly paired with exquisite wines. The chef's creativity and attention to detail were evident in every bite. What truly stood out was the personal touch. They surprised my wife with a beautifully crafted birthday dessert, complete with a handwritten message. It’s clear that Chef Table is not just about food but about creating memorable experiences. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines impeccable service, world-class cuisine, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Chef Table is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back to celebrate more milestones!More infoThe Chefs TablePrice: Expensive• British• Chester•4.7

- LRLouiseRDerbyshire •3 reviews4.0Dined on 24 Nov 2024Breakfast was table service, which I felt was a big improvement. Staff were lovely. Room was upgraded. Food was good. The Asian salad didn't have any kind of dressing on it, therefore it was very ordinary. They don't serve cocktails. Pork belly was good with a lovely cider gravy ( I requested more which wasn't a problem ) you pay extra for sides. There is a £5 supplement for a few of the breakfast items eg avocado. We had a lovely time. Bed and breakfast was only £60 ppl which is good value especially when you can use the lovely warm pool, even after checkout.More infoSalt at Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & SpaPrice: Expensive• British• Tarporley•3.2
