The Winding Stair Bookshop & Café became a famous Dublin landmark in the 1970s and 1980s. Named after the Yeats poem and in honour of its winding staircase, it is overlooking the river Liffey, with an iconic view of the Ha'penny bridge. As a popular meeting place for writers, musicians and artists, it was a well known hub for debate and creativity with many poems written, novels penned and movies shot within its walls. In 2006, Elaine Murphy brought this much-loved spot back to life as a restaurant, championing seasonal, Irish produce. The bookshop, located on the ground floor, was retained, as were many of the old bookshelves, photos and memories. The room retains its timeless charm with stripped wood tables and floors, and Bentwood café chairs. The view remains as quintessentially Dublin as ever. The food is good, old-fashioned home cooking, with produce sourced from artisans within the island. Drink sare local and international craft beers & wines from stellar producers.

Elephant & Castle Prince Street opened in Lower Manhattan in ’73 across from St Vincent’s Hospital where George had worked as an oncologist since the 1950’s. After two decades of short lunch breaks where he could never get anything he wanted to eat, finally he retired to a life of eating everything he wanted to eat, in his own restaurant with a special name. His passion and obsession for quality was infectious and E&C became a New York classic within a few years. Doors opened in a very different and quiet Temple Bar in January 1989 and by Summer of that year the queues had already started for our fantastic food and spectacular atmosphere! Outside the world has greatly changed, but inside our swinging doors we try to keep things just the way they were.

Outstanding service, amazing food and a great view to boot. We had the charcuterie board, fried oyster mushrooms, lamb and dumplings, and white chocolate mousse with rhubarb. We can highly recommend each of these dishes and can safely assume everything else on the menu was just as high quality.

It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy evening out. We started our meal with the garlic breadsticks, which were simply divine. The bread was perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of garlic and butter, making each bite a delight. For the main course, I ordered the fillet, which was cooked to perfection. It was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, easily one of the best steaks I've ever had. The accompanying sides complemented the dish wonderfully, enhancing the overall experience. To finish off the meal, I indulged in the profiteroles for dessert. They were light, airy, and filled with delicious cream, topped with a rich chocolate sauce that was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Overall, exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was exceptional, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere enchanting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Absolutely delighted with my dining experience at Hawksmoor Dublin! The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a testament to the chef's expertise, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The steak, in particular, was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and seasoned impeccably. The sides and desserts were equally impressive, making for a well-rounded and memorable meal. The service was another highlight of the evening. Jack, our server, was outstanding. His attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and in-depth knowledge of the menu made our dining experience even more enjoyable. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and offered excellent recommendations. The bartender also deserves special mention. They were incredibly helpful and crafted some of the best cocktails we've ever had. Their skill and creativity were evident in every drink, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening. Overall, Hawksmoor Dublin offers an exceptional dining experience with top-notch food and impeccable service. Highly recommended!
