Restaurants near Bonawe Historic Iron Furnace

Really enjoyed our trip to Cardross Inn. It’s a cracking pub and the restaurant is very good too. Worth a visit.

We had heard that the fish and chips were really nice so we thought we’d give them a try- all 4 of us got it. And we were so glad we did as it was delicious. 10/10. Fish perfectly cooked, batter nice and crispy, chips were really thick but so fluffy in the middle. The tartar sauce was homemade and fantastic. Highly recommend the restaurant overall, but any future diners should try the fish and chips- it’s a must!

Meeting with friends we hadn’t seen for some time. Emily our waitress was lovely, helpful, polite and patient. One of us had Katsu curry which he said was delicious, the rest of us had pasta, one with a sauce and two with garlic prawns. All delicious. It was a good experience and would recommend Palominos restaurant. However the food was a tad pricey.

We've been eating at the Knipoch for special occasions since it opened last year and love the venue, staff and ambience. This time we felt the lunch menu was not as good as on previous occasions. This may be due to the fact that they don't have many lunch visitors but if I had just dropped in on spec I don't think I'd go back. It didn't seem to be due to lack of staff, Becky and Mark served us and they worked hard to make our time enjoyable. There was a new Summer menu which was quite limited. We will definately go back because of the relationship we have developed with the hotel and staff. We hope others who may be similarly disapointed will give them a second chance.

From the moment we arrived, we were made very welcome. The service was exceptionally friendly. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant but then moved outside for drinks because the weather was so good and the views from the beer garden are spectacular! We’ll be back soon!
