The cheese grits are so tasty and the broccoli rabe so fresh and tender, the best I've had. Service is attentive and informative. "Visited for the first time on Sunday the waiter was very attentive and polite. The pizza was very good I got a pepperoni pizza there was a lot of pepperoni which my fiancé loved but I’d prefer less and would have asked for extra cheese if I had known but overall was delightful. My fiancé got the Lasagna which tasted amazing! We also got the fried calamari app which also came with some fried shrimp and both types of calamari bodies and rings. Bar crowd is a bit noisy for a steakhouse but it’s a vibrant place so I guess that is part of its charm.
We did the price fixe Groupon deal. Amazing value.
It’s a true dinner, not a watered down version of their normal menu like you will see in slot of prices fixe.
Huge salad, large filet, large portions of really good sides, glass of wine with a good wine, and a very good dessert.
Owner, sam, is super hospitable. Gave us complimentary wine.
Like many restaurants, when you order wine by the glass, their house bottles are kept on very warm areas and the red wine is being served at room temperature or higher. Like 75 degrees.
Proper serving of red wine should be 60-65.
It’s a common problem not unique to this spot.

"The perfect evening for dining al fresco at L'escale. Greeted with a watermelon gazpacho amuse bouche. Proceeded with Blue Point Oysters and Tuna Tartar. Entrees were John Dory flown in from Australia. Dessert was a peach tart with vanilla bean ice cream. Absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Service excellent.
