'The Crabtree, with its spectacular position downstream from The River Cafe,has a huge sprawling garden, a glazed colonnade and frontage on to theThames shaded by a weeping willow. The prawns in chilli hot oil and the toastspread with tomatoes and onions were good, so much so we ordered themagain when we returned for Sunday lunch. Opened in 1996 the Havelock Tavern is one of London's original gastro pubs. Unlike many others that have come and gone since, we have changed very little over that time. Rather than become a restaurant in an old pub building, we focus on being a pub that serves really good food. The atmosphere is lively and informal so that anyone can eat, drink and feel at home. We are not trying to be sophisticated, but aim to provide you with a good, relaxing time. Overall a good meal with good service. The dish that was disappointing was the vegan main course at £18. This was vegan burella with a tomato cut into 4 pieces. Not even passable as a starter to be honest. It was sent back and another option was offered. Several dishes were not available on the day we dined which was also disappointing. Fish and chips, burger and fish pie were all very good.

We visited here Friday 4pm. Lunch time service is up to 6pm and it's reasonable, authentic and tasty. It's also including a glass of gin&tonic. Large comfortable space, facing to River Thames, very stylish and romantic.
