Set within acres of peaceful countryside, Nent Hall Country House Hotel is a historic manor built around 1738 by Richard Harris, a local lead miner who made his fortune in mining. In 1858, an ornate tower was added, giving the house a distinctive silhouette that still defines its appearance today. The building later became a hotel, continuing its long story of hospitality. Many original features remain, reflecting the character and heritage of the house, and sit comfortably alongside carefully considered modern comforts. Silver Vein takes its name from the rich mining history of the surrounding hills. For centuries, silver and lead shaped life in the North Pennines, leaving a lasting mark on the landscape and local communities. Set within the historic surroundings of Nent Hall, the restaurant offers relaxed place to dine.

Attended the Portuguese cooking class. Excellent chefs teaching the course and made it fun and easy. Lots of dishes to cook for the most basic cook, and the instructions were clear and easy with fantastic results. It has been one of the best classes I have attended, small group and meals that looked complicated to make were so easy when following the chefs easy steps to follow and everyone worked at the same pace. Definitely recommend this course

Lovely place. Decor mostly beautiful and in keeping with the rustic vibe though the obvious bare new MDF walls let it down a tiny touch.Lovely and clean through out. Service and Food were fantastic could not have asked for better. Well priced,4 Sunday lunches with 2 alcoholic drinks and 2 soft drinks about 100.
