The Winding Stair Bookshop & Café became a famous Dublin landmark in the 1970s and 1980s. Named after the Yeats poem and in honour of its winding staircase, it is overlooking the river Liffey, with an iconic view of the Ha'penny bridge. As a popular meeting place for writers, musicians and artists, it was a well known hub for debate and creativity with many poems written, novels penned and movies shot within its walls. In 2006, Elaine Murphy brought this much-loved spot back to life as a restaurant, championing seasonal, Irish produce. The bookshop, located on the ground floor, was retained, as were many of the old bookshelves, photos and memories. The room retains its timeless charm with stripped wood tables and floors, and Bentwood café chairs. The view remains as quintessentially Dublin as ever. The food is good, old-fashioned home cooking, with produce sourced from artisans within the island. Drink sare local and international craft beers & wines from stellar producers.

Elephant & Castle Prince Street opened in Lower Manhattan in ’73 across from St Vincent’s Hospital where George had worked as an oncologist since the 1950’s. After two decades of short lunch breaks where he could never get anything he wanted to eat, finally he retired to a life of eating everything he wanted to eat, in his own restaurant with a special name. His passion and obsession for quality was infectious and E&C became a New York classic within a few years. Doors opened in a very different and quiet Temple Bar in January 1989 and by Summer of that year the queues had already started for our fantastic food and spectacular atmosphere! Outside the world has greatly changed, but inside our swinging doors we try to keep things just the way they were.

Great time we had at Pichet in Dublin! We marked Fathers Day and a birthday there. It truly was an experience. The food was outstanding each dish prepared with care. Presented beautifully. The service stood out Mira, who went the mile to cater to our needs. The atmosphere was warm and intimate creating the setting, for special occasions. Considering the quality of the dishes and the attentive service we found the overall value to be excellent. We genuinely enjoyed our time at Pichet. Would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking a dining experience.

Outstanding service, amazing food and a great view to boot. We had the charcuterie board, fried oyster mushrooms, lamb and dumplings, and white chocolate mousse with rhubarb. We can highly recommend each of these dishes and can safely assume everything else on the menu was just as high quality.

This place is really great. An excellent staff service. The delicious and tasty food. It does get busy here, booking a table in advance is recommended. The atmosphere is more chilling overall. I enjoyed the food so much, I had chicken wings and a buttermilk hot fire Burger. Very juicy! I highly recommend this restaurant!

It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy evening out. We started our meal with the garlic breadsticks, which were simply divine. The bread was perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of garlic and butter, making each bite a delight. For the main course, I ordered the fillet, which was cooked to perfection. It was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, easily one of the best steaks I've ever had. The accompanying sides complemented the dish wonderfully, enhancing the overall experience. To finish off the meal, I indulged in the profiteroles for dessert. They were light, airy, and filled with delicious cream, topped with a rich chocolate sauce that was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Overall, exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was exceptional, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere enchanting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
