Our farmers define our menu. The local Appalachian produce changes with the season and so does our menu. The menu will change week to week or day to day depending on climate and seasonal growth length. From ramps and morels to soft shell crab and local beef, we strive to provide the absolute freshest in ingredients. We kindly ask that our guests are aged 12 years and older and pets are left at home.Our limited space against the window is our most popular request; we may not be able to fulfill all requests in the evening. The Best Cellar Restaurant, established in 1975, has an elaborate history in the mountains of Blowing Rock. The original owners of the restaurant sold sandwiches, soups and used and new books. It was located in the basement below Main Street. The Best Cellar found it's final home inside The historic Inn at Ragged Gardens in 2006. The menu now consists of a variety of seafood, fowl and meat dishes. The restaurant also boasts an extensive wine list. At the Best Cellar Restaurant, diners can enjoy several varietals of wines by the glass or bottle; or enjoy a craft cocktail curated by our experienced bartenders. Diners can start their meal with one of the restaurant's starters such as our long running seafood sampler. The Best Cellar Restaurant offers diners a wide selection of entrées with customer favorites of roasted half duckling, rack of lamb and halibut Picatta. You can end your meal with a slice of our famous banana cream pie, or a chocolate martini if that's more your style.

    Outstanding!! This Saturday evening, I enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass. It was fantastic. So I came back the next evening for Japanese Wagu and it was fantastic. Everything was excellent. Service, Ambiance, and Food! Overall, I think this is the best fine dining restaurant in North Carolina and probably beyond

    We visit the area every year and are always looking for something new. We found this resturant online and it had 3500+ reviews and 5 stars. The Gamekeeper did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu is small, so they executed every detail perfectly. The food was really good. The location is beautiful. We will visit again.

    Chetola is one of the most beautiful settings in the Blowing Rock area. Haven, its signature restaurant, offers delicious food and drinks and attentive service in a cozy, intimate setting. It is especially appealing in the fall, with fires blazing and nature putting on a show outdoors. Put on your sweater and enjoy a cocktail by the firepit followed by lunch or dinner on the patio. Or dine indoors and enjoy the fireplace. You may get a bit nostalgic for bygone times in lovely, historical Chetola.
