She didn’t have a lot, but she had her boys and practiced a “Whatever It Takes” approach to balancing the demands of running restaurants with the demands of raising 3 sons alone. Loving and leading her family while setting an example of her tireless work ethic is what drove her to excel in all the Mexican restaurants that she was a part of.Passing in 2010, Betty had instilled in her sons the passion for family, work, and Mexican food! Though she is no longer with us, her love for her family, her guests, and the food will forever live on. Her work is done, but her passion for Mexican food lives on.

    Wow! This place lives up to the hype! Absolutely beautiful, sparkling clean and one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! We started with lattes and the jumbo cinnamon roll "for the table". YUM! The Farm Breakfast followed (basic eggs, potatoes, toast/biscuit and bacon/sausage). Everything was cooked just right. And those biscuits...mmmm! We had a side of sausage gravy, which was perfectly peppered and loaded with sausage. I wasn't sure about the strawberry butter, but it was delicious! Service was prompt without being rushed and everyone was so kind and friendly! Highly recommend this place!

    ★★★★★ We had a wonderful MonthVersary dinner at La Riv Wood Fired Italian in Temple, Texas. Our server, Jared, was professional, kind, attentive, and welcoming, and his service added to an already enjoyable evening. We shared the Charcuterie & Cheese Board and Beef Bruschetta to start. The Beef Bruschetta was absolutely amazing! We also loved the house-special yellow cheddar infused with port red wine on the charcuterie board. Such a unique and delicious touch. For our entrées, I had the Braised Akaushi Beef Short Ribs Pappardelle, and my husband had the Carne Pizza. We finished by sharing the House-Made Tiramisu, which was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The food, presentation, atmosphere, and service all made for a memorable experience. As an unexpected bonus, Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” began playing while we were celebrating our 69th MonthVersary. We couldn’t have planned that moment any better! ❤️ Thank you, Jared and the La Riv Temple team, for helping make our celebration special. We look forward to returning!
