DANIEL DEL PRADOBorn in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Chef Daniel del Prado is the child of parents of Spanish and southern Italian descent. After moving to the United States in his early 20s, del Prado began his culinary career in Colorado—cooking at night and snowboarding during the day. Upon moving to Minneapolis, he had the opportunity to work in some of the finest kitchens in the Twin Cities. In 2009 del Prado teamed up with his mentor, Isaac Becker, to open Bar La Grassa in the North Loop. When it came time for del Prado to open his own concepts, he burst onto the Twin Cities scene with his premiere Linden Hills restaurant, Martina, and opened the Oaxacan Mexican-influenced Colita just a year after. Chef del Prado has continued to open new and innovative concepts.

Founded by restaurateur Marno McDermott and former Green Bay Packers player Max McGee in 1975, Chi-Chi's quickly became a beloved staple in the American dining scene. Initially opened in Richfield, Minnesota, the restaurant stood out with its vibrant Mexican "eatery" concept, enticing guests with family dining in a Mexican garden atmosphere and offering superb food and pitchers of margaritas.     Anna (I believe) was the most incredible server!! We had two birthdays to celebrate along with two going back to college…and OMG she was dialed in and made this rare time we get together so incredibly special. We go to a lot of restaurants and never once were we made to feel rushed. So rare these days with the economy being what it is in wanting to get as many seatings as possible in an evening. Thank you for a night we will remember!!

    I met two childhood friends at Porzana and it was the first time we had seen each other in years. That should be enough information to note our elevated giggles, cackles, and conversation. Cameron was our server and he was wonderful, tolerated us beautifully, ha! He knew the menu front to back, gave us many recommendations, and he was patient but attentive when we chatted a bit before ordering. We shared fresh oysters, perfection. I had a bite of my friends’ Caesar salad and I will now dream of that thing each time I have a Caesar elsewhere. For my entree, I went with the lobster pasta and it too was perfection. Everything was beautifully seasoned and prepared so well. The atmosphere was upbeat and lively and it was such a great experience - 10/10 all around.

    It was a midsummer early evening and we had outdoor reservations which was a great choice. I heard the waitlist was 90 minutes so definitely reserve in advance. My date had an attractive and tasty salad and we split a Marguerite pizza. The pizza was very tasty and a recommend. We also tried a couple wines off their menu that were not the usual choices you would find. Both the rosé and the Sauvignon Blanc type were very good. Service was friendly. Overall a great experience but perhaps a touch pricey for a pizza night.
