Restaurants near Park Plaza Beaver Creek

Splendido at the Chateau is our favorite place in Beaver Creek for many years and last night reminded us why. The atmosphere is wonderful, the wine and Champagne selection was outstanding, and most importantly, we left with more energy than we arrived with. In fact, we enjoyed the evening so much that we are coming back again tonight. A brief explanation for my 4-star food rating: the Colorado Rack of Lamb was exceptional a true 10/10. Having enjoyed lamb at many outstanding restaurants around the world, I genuinely believe it would be difficult to prepare Colorado lamb any better than this. The Beef Tartare was also excellent, easily a 9/10. The only disappointment was the vegetable accompaniment to the Wagyu Denver Steak special. Unfortunately, it seemed to have been overwhelmed by vinegar; virtually all of the vegetables’ own flavors had disappeared behind the acidity. That single element is what brought my food rating down to 4 stars this time. The same nuance applies to my 4-star service rating. This absolutely does not refer to the sommelier, who was outstanding. His approach was warm, personal, empathetic, and immediately created a genuine connection; exactly the kind of human touch that makes hospitality memorable. Our primary server, by contrast, felt somewhat more transactional. Nothing was fundamentally wrong, but the difference in human connection was noticeable. Overall, however, Splendido remains a 5-star experience for us. It is a beautiful, highly energizing place that has kept us coming back for years. We left happy, energized, and already looking forward to returning tonight.
