The name of our restaurant, Mercato, signifies the trade route of Pomerania – via Mercatorum, which historically connected Gdańsk with Southern Poland. Our menu combines local and seasonal products with culinary trends from around the world, using the latest techniques. The four symbols which inspire our menu are rooted in history – the broad bean grain, planted by the Pomeranians in e, the noble Baltic salmon, the ‘Fagas’ which was a large Pomeranian sheep bred on Zulawy, and finally the duck, used as a symbol of birds bred for centuries in Pomerania.

    The menu is quite seafood heavy, noticeably inspired by art, and everything was prepared to perfection. A few bites were surprising, most were delicious, and dessert was interactive. I've never been a blood sausage fan, but the blood sausage bite on this menu was one of my favorites. It was a great way to kick off vacation.

    We loved this restaurant. Food was delicious. Not nearly as heavy as other local restaurants. Our server Sandra was incredibly wonderful. And the restaurant was right next door to our hotel. We enjoyed the beef tartare, fish, ribeye and the soup — All of it excellent. Highly recommend.

    We have visited a few Hard Rocks over the years and enjoy their menu. Gdansk Hard Rock has a great location on Dlugi Targ. Service was friendly, food was good, and wine was good value. Although there is the usual music memorabilia, the inside looked a little tired and lacked the vibrant atmosphere you usually get. I would say that it's a good option if other restaurants are busy.
